They have pretty good sound here and parking is free in the big lot behind the theater. Just don't forget to take in your ticket to get stamped by the movie ticket seller. They have quite a few theaters like 6-8 I think. They have good seating and of course right downtown so if you go early enough to get dinner you can do dinner before the movie. Just remember that the restaurants downtown and the street parking is filled up on a Friday by as early as 5.00p.m. more

In the mood for a movie 8/18/2005

The Bijou Cinema, located downtown, is a great place to catch a flick. It has 10 or so screens and shows the latest films. It provides stadium seating. There are many great restaurants within walking distance. Conveniently located beneath a parking garage and reimburses for parking up to 3 hours when you bring the parking stub to the ticket window. more

A Theater Downtown is Worth Something in Itself 7/22/2005

While the Bijou is not one of the new megaplexes, it is so nice to have a movie theater downtown. Theaters are small and comfortable (no stadium seating or seats though) and the lobby can usually accommodate the crowd at hand. They also participate in the bi-annual independent film festival that AVA puts together. We love going for dinner downtown and then catching a movie. You can also have your parking garage ticket validated and park for free in the attached garage. It'll cover you while you're at dinner too. more
