New Owners 1/8/2007

This store has new owners. I was in there today and the new guys are very friendly and helpful. There's also someone working there who knows about wine. I was looking for something out of the ordinary and I was impressed with his knowledge. The prices are still really good, too. I'd give them another try- the place seems really different now. more

Good in a pinch, but not my favorite store. 4/7/2006

Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with Big Value Wine and Liquors. Their prices are competitive and their location is convenient, right near Vails Gate's Five Corners and three big grocery stores. Their selection is good. The one thing that makes some other local liquor stores stand out better to me is the friendly service others offer and their knowledge of wines, and ability to recommend appropriate wines. Cornwall's liquor store, as well as Vino 100 and Mid Valley in Newburgh have gotten a good reputation for their customer service. This is one area Big Value needs to improve. more
