I am definitely a critic when it comes to customer service. I worked in the customer service industry for years, and I expect good service when I am a paying customer, although it doesn't always turn out that way!
It is a rare occasion when I am completely blown away by great service, but it happened a couple days ago! I have had a slow leak in my tire, and had put off getting it fixed for a few days. Finally, I knew I had to get it fixed, so I got online to find a tire shop in my area. I pulled one up, got directions and headed that way. On my way to the shop I pulled up, I noticed a Big O Tires on the side of the road, and decided to pull in there, as it was closer. I wasn't sure if they repaired tires, but pulled in anyway.
I walked in the store and was immediately greeted. I told the guy working there that I needed my tire fixed. He took my name, the make and model of my car, and asked for my keys. He showed my son and I to a comfortable, very clean waiting area, and really made us feel welcome.
A few minutes later, we saw them pulling the car out, so I went to the counter. The man working at the counter handed me my keys, told me it was all taken care of, and told me to have a great day. I asked him how much I owed, and he told me nothing, that it was complimentary. I was stunned! I was very happy to hand him my City Editor business card, and let him know that his business would be reviewed.
