My husband and I went to Big Dogs and ordered one drink and a beer, they charged us $6.25, paid the lady. Later we approached the bar and now ordered one drink and a coke. $7.00.
???...
So I say to the lady, earlier I paid $6.25 for two drinks and now I pay $7.00 for a drink and a coke? She says "yeah, well it is happy hour now".
I say "So now that it is happy hour, the price goes up?" she said "yes".
How does this make sense? I thought happy hour was for the customer not the bar.
I thought happy hour was a "thanks" to customers for their patronage, am I wrong?
The place is pretty cheesy in general though.
When we got there the first girl tells us that she doesnt work there all that often, like she is embarresed of the place. (at least she has some sense) When the second girl comes on to start her shift, the Manager breaks out a camera, puts byonces "hot like me" song on the juke box and starts taking photos of the two bartenders, for the sake of two guys sitting at the bar. May I add that the two men were nobody to impress.
We had been in this place one other time. That time we met a female bartender that was a nice person, told us alot about nightly activities and was good at her job.
However, we left because some drunk man had his hand up his drunk ladys' dress. God forbid my husband touch the mens bathroom door handle after him. Yuck!
This bar is like a tiny hillbilly circus.
To their credit, the drinks are strong, and are at a good price. If you like to people watch then go, just bring a wet nap with you.
Pros: Plenty of parking, service is good.
Cons: low class, happy hour is more expensive than regular hours
