Big Dogs

Big Dogs use to be a fun spot to meet up with friends drink,dance and have a good time. That was then. Last night it was after 10pm and there were 4 cars. Dead. We thought they closed. Went in and showed id. I was fine,but my black, 6'4 boyfriend there was a problem. They said he came up on the list that he was ""banned"" from the bar. He was maybe there 3 times before. No problem then. They couldn't come up with any proof. Supposedly when they scanned his license it came up. Ridiculous. They are racist,rude, ignorant. I see this place closing in the near future. Even if we got in we wouldn't of been staying. There wasn't a downstairs or anybody there. more

This bar features drink specials 7 days a week. $1.25 mixed drinks from 10pm-12am. The ""single"" which is actually $1.25 is rather small. I recommend getting a double which is about a reg sized drink for $2.50. The bartenders are attractive and quick (all female). Monday nights are ""lingerie night"". The bartender on duty is in her best skivies. Wednesday night is ""bikini night"". You guessed it- the bartender in a bikini. During the day on Mon and Wed draws the older (mostly male) crowd. After 10pm the 25ish and younger crowd trickles in. Friday and Saturday nights are by far the busiest. The downstairs opens up w/ a live DJ around 10pm. On weekends the downstairs turns into more of a club while the upstairs remains chill w/people sitting at the bar playing old school rock on the juke box. The crowd then is mostly 25ish and younger. Sunday night is karaoke night which draws a decent crowd. The bar has a full menu until 10pm. The food is decently priced and tasty. Pros: Friendly bartenders, ample parking-xtra lot across street, pool tables upstairs Cons: on weekends forget about getting a pool table unless your there early-there are only 4 of them. more
