Great place, very friendly and helpful. I'd been having some issues with my tires and alignment after taking my car to two different locations of Big O Tires, both of which were less than helpful, and the guys at Big Brand helped me to figure out what the actual problem was and then rotated my tires completely free of charge! You can tell they actually care about helping you rather than just making money off of you (cough...Big O...). Highly recommend! more

W.O.W... ITS TRUE... 4/18/2011

OMG!!!\r Got a flat yesterday SUNDAY.. when nothing is open. Being that I work at UCSB. Figured I would go to "Big BRAND" alot of people were telling me they fix & change your tire for "FREE"\r i thought no way something is wrong. So I had called to make sure this was right. My frist inpression was wow, nice and even with a personitity. They were right.. No CHARGE... I am a single mom and boy do I have to count my pennies. They even have a Compurter while you wait, FAST, FRENDLY, Greg, & Peter you guys are really AWSOME!!! \r THANK YOU AGAIN!!! \r Respectfully,\r Theresa more

Preferred discount? 2/16/2011

They did not have or could get the 2 choices of tires I wanted. So I took their advice and purchased four in stock tires. They added warranty and nitrogen to quote which I did not want, and gave me a 80.00 preferred customer discount. They called and said I needed another alignment (they just did one 3 months before) so I agreed. When I picked up SUV they had lowered preferred discount to 65.00 and gave me free nitrogen and removed warranty. So I guess I was charged for nitrogen! I hate those green plastic caps! I have a 10% off card from them which they ignored. more

Borderline Tire Place.... 11/19/2010

I'm just not sure.....Gary(manager), one of the 2 people at the front desk does talk like he's hosting an auction. Luckily...I think, the other guy Jay helped me. They didn't seem to have very many brands that were in stock....So I let him sell me a couple Kumho tires. When I'm handed the invoice to reveiw, they added, extended warranty $16, Balancing, $16.95 PER TIRE, and Nitrogen fill instead of air for $5 PER TIRE....Really...they are selling you AIR....Oxygen is 78% Nitrogen already....gimmie a break! Do I really need the four wheel alignment they recommended to give me? I dunno... So I give em 3 stars because the tires were new, and the car was ready on time. Only driven to work so far...OH and when they changed the weights on the inside of the tire rim...they peeled off the old ones and left a papery gooey mess for me to clean up..... more

Great experience. Helpful. 11/2/2010

I had a flat and went there because of their ads on the radio. The staff was quite helpful and positive. The manager on duty and another guy were the first to take care of my situation. I was shown that I needed new tires rather than a flat repair. Got a quote right away and they worked with me on the price since I explained this wasn't something I had planned for in my budget. They were all willing to help and I left feeling a lot less stressed about my tires that day. Oh! And their waiting area has 2 computers for their customers' access (with internet access) - I thought it was a great touch to their shop. more

screwed 2/26/2010

just had them put on two tires yesterday, (I'm broke right now) may not have anything to do with my car but while waiting I heard a loud noise and a guy yell 'o $hit', then when they are done they tell me I have a bent rim, never had a prob before old tire perfect, car steered perfect had tire rotated no problems (costco) now the car pulls to one side. I should have left at once because on the ph I was told I could get four tires for 270 and then once there they said 440 and the owner talks like he is doing an auction, I should have waited for costco to get my tires. more

Big Bandit Hacks 2/18/2010

Do not have them work on your vehicle, they have a very inexperianced staff, damaged a lug lock and wheel, and the Manager said "We tried to fix it, but we werent able to, sorry" Bad business. I was stupid enough to go back for another set of tires after the first incident and the Manager then after telling him I did not want any nitrogen ($5 per tire) or the insurance, I was still billed for it anyway. DO NOT take your car or truck to these hacks!!! more

Big Brand in Goleta will rip you off in any way they can, especially with work that isn't needed and you didn't consent to. BEWARE, or better yet, just don't go there. more

Estimate was grossly over-inflated 4/24/2009

Took in my wife's car because of a slight squeal from the brakes. Their estimate said I needed new pads front and rear, near rotors on rear because of insufficient material to re-finish them, and brake fluid flush. Grand total of $511. I told them thanks, but no thanks, and took it to an honest mechanic for a second opinion. Turns out front pads had between 40% and 50% material remaining, rear rotors had more than enough material to re-finish, and the brake fluid was just fine. All I needed was rear pads replaced -- $170. Feels like I was lied to so that Big Brand could get me to pay for a bunch of unneeded work. I'll not be back there ever again. The only redeeming quality is that at least their inspection is free so I owed them nothing for their inflated estimate, and they didn't hassle me for not authorizing the work. (But of couse they made me wait for almost 45 minutes before they took my car off the rack and let me leave.) more

Honest, fast, and a good deal 3/16/2007

Big Brand has been great to us this past year. For some reason I've had a run of flat tires, and they've fixed every one for free. We've also gotten great service when buying tires (and good prices on those, too). more

so nice 4/4/2006

just today i got a flat tire, and it was raining cats and dogs. I changed the tire, because i didn't know if i could find a tire place soon, and was referred to Big Brand Tires to fix the flat.\r \r They were really nice, they even helped me get the tire out of my trunk (i was already soaked and had dirt from changing it, but i appreciated it). Even though they were busy they had it repaired within the hour, and they didn't even charge me! more

Need tires, an alignment, brakes? 12/24/2005

I came here once to have my car looked at because my car had squeaky brakes. A friend recommended them to me. I was very happy with how helpful and friendly the guys were here. Most mechanics talk to women like we don't undertstand what certain parts are. There guys didn't do that. They explained to me what was causing the noise and what needs to be done. They didn't pressure me to get it done there either. PROS: VERY friendly people CONS: NONE! more

I love Big Brand! 7/26/2005

Big Brand has helped me so many times I have lost count. The people that work here really know their business. The man who works at the desk is super efficient. I have gone in here for a wide variety of problems and questions about my car and whatever it is is always taken care of quickly, efficiently and the price is always right too! Big Brand has discount cards and even offers some free services. We once discovered a slow leak in our car's tire and brought it in. Big Brand fixed it within minutes! Their location is behind the liquor store near McDonalds on Fairview Road. They are always busy, but you won't wait too long. PROS: Efficient, low prices, fast CONS: a little challenging to find it. more
