Big Al's on VA Beach Blvd is "AWESOME". I had a muffler problem and questioned cost and part...didn't make me feel stupid and explained and showed me the part and what happens to it over time and why it needed to be replaced. My check engine light came on and I was told by other shops that it was my catalytic converter and it would cost 800-1,000 to change it. I thought that was pretty steep so I went with a friends recommendation to check with Big Als because they do a good job and charge a fair price. I called 2 different Big Als locations and they quoted me over the phone a price of $300 including labor - I was impressed with the good price. I went to Big Als the next day to drop my car off.... An hour later I received a call from Big Al saying they ran a diagnostic test which showed the issue was actually a misfire in the 4th cylinder. Big Al noticed a big gap with my spark plug as the culprit - they not only resolved the issue but it was FREE of CHARGE! Because of Big Al's honesty - they have not only earned a customer for life but I will make sure to refer all my friends and co-workers for their car issues.
