Sporty? Big 5 is for you 12/28/2005

Big 5 is the first place I think of when I need to get my sporting goods. I bought my tennis racket there a few years ago and I got a great price. They also have weekly sales on shoes, whether you need them for tennis, going to the gym, or for special needs like baseball or golf. I also bought a swim cap there, although that didn't last very long. Still, it's a good place to go for all your sports and recreational needs. more

Cheap Pool Sticks! 9/13/2005

Recently I broke my pool stick playing pool at my friend's pad. So I thought, hmm maybe its time to go shopping for a new stick, as i headed out to many pool stores, their sticks ranged from cheap $39 dollars to a whopping $200-$500 dollar sticks. i was like WHAT!? 5 bills for a pool stick? no way. Therefore I headed out to a sporting good store and found me BIG 5. As soon as i walked in, i saw the pool sticks on the rack for sale, the price, a fairly reasonable $9.99. And there you have it, who says you can't have fun with a little amount of money? more

It's....huge. 8/9/2005

The Big 5 is right next to my haunting grounds, Staples. My son loves going in there a potentially harm himself with equipment and balls and all that other nonsense that is neccessary to play sports. He recently got into the habit of skating. Not just any kind of skating, but the kind involving stunts and railings. I, in fear of losing a child's limbs, bought every bit of safety gear the ungrateful kid never wore. The result? A load of knee and shoulder pads that cost more than they should and a kid crying about a skinned knee and how ugly his helmet is. The people in here are nice enough to direct me around here though and willing to look in the back for items that seem not be stocked on the outside. Overall, I'd go to this place if there was a huge sale. And by huge, I mean BIG discounts. more
