Cheap store 4/13/2006

This place is very good for vegetables and beans and spices. The prices are very cheap. But they got one problem. You can find very fresh vegetables on weekends only. I think they bring vegetables on weekends and they sell it for the whole week. They also have buffet inside but this is actually not that good. But there samosas are very good. Their sweets are very tasty. Try their Rosmalai this is very good. But they should make the place little bit clean. more

customer service? what is that 10/30/2005

I must admit this place has all you can need as far as finding Indian groceries goes. However to say they lack customer service is an understatement. They have zero customer service. You ask someone for a particular item and they shriek at they top of their voices calling someone else to find it. No greeting, no smiles, all grim and sullen more

Wonderful store 9/26/2005

Its rightly said, Old is Gold. This is one of the oldest Indian grocery store in bay area. U can just find anything and everything there. There vast collection of items just amazes me. U get lots of fresh vegetables and fruits to buy on weekends. They have Indian beauty parlour inside. Its good for threading. Only thing I don't like about this store is, that its small for the amount of items they have. Else its pretty good. more

You can get anything here 9/16/2005

I had been using this store for Indian groceries for over 5 yrs. It offers u the widest range of products in bay area. I was looking for a very specific and rarely used item(called harr), I never expected to find it. But I found it in Bharat Bazar. I couldn't believe myself that i found it there. Whenever u are looking for something rare , Bharat bazar is the place to go. It also hosts a beauty parlour. So u can kill 2 birds at the same time. more

Great rates one stop shop for indian groceries 8/15/2005

This is a great one stop shop for indian groceries. Right from fresh vegetables typically ones used in india to packed ready made foods it has everything. More than all the stuff available it is easily 30% cheaper than the stores up north in the peninsula. I live in San Mateo area and find it worth driving 20 miles, buying monthly groceires and driving back. The also have warm packed roties which i hear is prepared on site. more

INDIAN GROCERY STORE 8/13/2005

Not Great Quality 8/11/2005

This is a historic place in my book. one of the first Indian Grocery Stores in the area (that have been around for 20 years), they still have managed to maintain their presence. However, I find that the quality of the their items is quite poor. The prices are good. The selection IMMENSE. by poor quality i mean that if you buy vegetables, you have to wash them multiple times to make sure they are clean from dirt. I have bought bagged items from here a cuple times which I have had to return due to expired. My personal opinion is to go to India Cash and Carry instead. more

This is a Indian Grocery store. Unfortunately, messy is the word that comes to my mind when I think of this indian grocery store. They have a lot of stuff I would say but is all messed up and so I do not feel like visiting this store. I had once bought bread from this place when I went to get rest of my grocery and to my disbelief when I came home and my wife checked the expiry date it was way past one month. I went and returned the bread but they had no explanation as to why they had an item which has past the expiry date. more
