A giant loft space in an innocuous-looking old warehouse, on a minor thoroughfare in the middle of nowhere in Yonkers. It's not very pretty, but who cares?!? This is the kind of thing you can do with such cheap real estate... There's a small section in the front of ""retail"" costumes for the plebes, but if you're serious, the back has THOUSANDS OF SQUARE FEET of costumes, arranged by genre, period of history, color, and with all the right accessories. NOTE: Many of the outfits are old theatre costumes, so they're not as substantial as ""real"" clothes, but spend some time looking and you'll probably find what you're looking for...or maybe something you didn't imagine but which is ideal. I found an outfit for a friend which was stunningly perfect on her... Yon (the owner) and her staff are great, but cut them some slack and get there before 5:00 on October 31st.
I really don't get the complaint that they have ""people's old clothes"" because I don't know anyone who routinely wears Mardi Gras costumes, 17th century ruffles and suede coats, giant Gumby outfits, and light-up robot suits.
and....needles in the parking lot? Never seen that. What are you, projecting?
Pros: HUGE quantity, great variety, well organized
Cons: It's there... but it will take some time to find it.
