Beverly Depot Restaurant

went w/ my wife for a 'special' dinner. we both had top sirloin. hers was ok, albeit unremarkable. mine was very tough, and i got tired from trying to chew it. meal was very rushed, with entrees coming out partway through our salad course. i never did get my drink, because the tap wasn't working. i pointed out that my steak was tough, but waitstaff was unapologetic. waiter dumped some silverware in my wife's lap and almost doused her with a glass of wine. man at nearby table was celebrating birthday and wished for his family to stop singing. he found a 'present' in his birthday cake and the waitress took it away and brought them another dessert. i'll bet he didn't get what he wanted. another table was busy taking flash pictures all during the meal. one young boy was fondling the bread and cheese at the salad bar. gross. salad bar items were limited and not up to par. this used to be so much better, but it was definitely lacking. my wife was very disappointed, as was i. i had to give it a rating, so i gave it 1 star. very expensive for what you get. look elsewhere... My family has been to the Depot many times, it's our favorite restaurant. (Salad bar is the best on the North Shore). I decided to have a baby shower for my daughter- in- law and it was absolutely fantastic. Super service, great ambiance and the best food ever. Tons of compliments and lots of fun! Thanks Depot Staff for pulling it off again...we will be back and I'm sure this will be our grandbaby's favorite place to eat in a couple of years! I had the best prime rib I've ever had, and my companion raved about his Chicken Florentine. I dislike salad bars but the veggies were very clean and fresh at theirs. Also we had absolutely excellent service, which is so hard to get! Pros: best prime rib ever Cons: very open atmosphere, salad bar more

I had not been to the Depot in a few years and I was in the mood for their famous New York sirloin and it was fantastic but I must tell you that they have a lot of new menu items that looked great so i'll have to become a regular customer so I can try the Ginger scallion swordfish, the duck with blueberry compote sounds great,chicken oscar, they also had a grilled scallop special that sounded great. I must say that I'm glad to see these new items on the menu. I will be back rather than later\r \r from a very satisfied customer Pros: excellent food and service more

What a bad experience we just had. They said they didn?t have iced coffee, really?.. ice + hot coffee = iced coffee but fine. They wouldn?t let one of our group order off of the lounge menu in the restaurant. She didn?t like seafood or steak so for dinner she had a side of mashed potatoes. We would have been willing to pay more for the cheese burger or grilled chicken salad but no mashed potatoes for dinner is fine. They got two out of the three dinners wrong and the dinner they got right ended up being under cooked chicken. I won?t be going back again\r Pros: plenty of parking, no wait more

I HAVE BEEN GOING TO THE DEPOT FOR OVER TWENTY YEARS. IT ALWAYS A GOOD PLACE TO GO, SPECIAL OCCASIONS ARE ENHANCED, BUT THE LAST FEW YEARS PORTIONS ARE SMALLER AND NOT AS NICELY COOKED AS BEFORE. STILL GO AND ENJOY THE AMBIENCE. more

This restaurant has it all. The food is fabulous. Salad bar to die for. A great dining experience. more
