Bethel Mill Animal Hospital

I have read the recent review about how Bethel Mill "made someone's dog suffer", and I wanted to share my experience.\r \r Dr. Love and her staff have shown us care and love to our "family members" as if they were their own children. \r \r My dog Cayla has been a patient there for many years, and has since passed away at age 13 in Dec 2008. When she was 11, she needed surgery on the bottom of her foot to remove a cyst. They did a senior blood screen and she was able to have the anethesia. \r I had to bring her to the office every day for a few weeks, then every other day for a few weeks more. The vet bill was over my budget, of course, but all worth it. \r \r I have never seen such care and love for animals as Dr. Love has for her patients. Her staff comforted Cayla, as well as myself, during all hard times. \r \r When it was Cayla's time, Dr. Love and her staff were extremely supportive throughout her last 6 weeks of life, with voluntary appointments made by me about once a week. \r Her more

I have been going to them since 1997 and was mostly satisfied until our horrible experience last month. We had to make the extremely difficult decision to have him euthanized because he was suffering and not living a comfortable life despite trying many different things to help him when he became ill. I was comforted when Dr. Forsythe told me they would give him a sedative to make him go to sleep before they did the euthanasia. She said we could be with him when he went to sleep. We went home and thought about it and when we called to make the appointment, were told the same thing: he would go to sleep first, which could stay for, and then he would be taken in the back for the euthanasia. When the time came for the appointment, our 7 year old daughter wanted to go to comfort him. Originally I would never have considered she go, but since they said he would go to sleep first, I thought it might be good for her to see that and know he simply went to sleep. I first met Dr. Love about 14 years ago when she was doing an emergency shift at Clementon Animal Hospital. I'd brought my Collie in for an eye problem and she was amazing right from the start. I asked if she was a regular so I could request her for all of my future visits. Unfortunately she wasn't.\r \r Several years later I saw her name on a sign outside the construction site of a new vet office. I was so elated to see her opening a practice near my home I called my old vet office the next day and told them to get all my paperwork ready to transfer to Bethel Mill as soon as they were open. I've been with Bethel Mill ever since and have never been happier with the choice.\r \r They are always a clean, friendly place with truly caring staff. The price range of their services is always about median comparatively, but I've found that the interests and styles of the vets on hand are so broad that they cover just about every kind of owner/care taker. Went in very recently for two of my beloved aging pets. In one situation my Dear cat was diagnosed with cancer and unfortuanately had to be put to sleep. The staff cared and showed sincere compassion during this very difficult time. Shortly after I recived a condolence card. The other situataion was my dog that had a sezuire , Fortunately my old girl dog was fine and they even called the next day to check on her. The staff truly cares about their furry patients and their families well being. I would reccomend this practice. more

We switched from another veterinarian to Bethel Mill based upon a recommendation from a friend. I was in a panic, because my new puppy was acting odd, and my current vet couldn't get me in that same day. Bethel Mill got us right in (and has always accomodated us in an emergency), and has since taken care of all of our pets. When we lost a kitten, they actually sent us a condolence card. We have visited Bethel Mill for both our cat and dog. The care that they provide is outstanding. They have very convenient hours and have been helpful with both illnesses and behavioral issues. The costs seem reasonable. Both our pets and we are are happy with them. more

Dr Karen is better then World Class so I'm giving her a few more stars ***. The Doc gave Jamie, my Boxer, and Me more years together then I thought I'd have with all of his "issues". I couldn't begin to thank her enough. My new guy Garth LOVES the greeting and treats that he gets when we go for a visit and I think she love it too. Karen believes in combining medicine along with vitamins. Wherever she goes so do we, from Fairless Hills to Sewell to Willingboro and now to Mt. Laurel. more
