Lamb-Beef Shewarma is Just like Tel Aviv- Yummy! 10/10/2005

I ate there for the first time, found the food great, reasonably priced, the service warm and friendly, and the decor very original. If you are bold try the Amba sauce ( pronounced Am-Ba ) on your shewarma or in your falafel sandwich. The hostess/cashier was cute too, allways a nice touch! I work nearby so i know i will be back for more. Hint the Laffa pita bread is better then the regular pita bread, ask for it specifically, I'm sure they will let you trade up for a quarter or two more. This place was fun! 10/2/2005

I disagree with the other reviewers. I ordered a a falalfel sandwich with fries and a coke, and only had to wait a few mintues. I don't mind though when the food is cooked fresh. This new Middle-Eastern food place is a godsend for the area! It's pricing is just right and the food tastes great. All the decor inside is Mediterranean, with Middle -Eastern music playing in the background. I would recommend giving them another shot-they are brand new, but have very good food and service. Hollowwood and extra for the pita 9/5/2005

Went there with a couple of co-workers and we all agreed, we would not be going back. The chicken shawarma was as tasty as a board of wood and the hummus was like a dry paste. The lunch plate was $7 but didnt include any rice or pita bread. Even though when I asked if the plate came with rice, they said yes and well, I didnt think to ask if pita is included, that was a bad assumption on my part. I suggest you just keep em boots a walkin, there are plenty of tasty meals to be had on the Sunset. Cons: No Flavor , Price more

"Sham"warma 8/25/2005

After spending nine minutes on the phone with a man who had a lesser grasp on the english language than Dan Quayle. Four co-workers and myself trekked over to this restaurant with gastrointestinal satisfication in our sights. Low and behold, what we were to experience was nothing short of a Mesopotamian mishap. Dishing out 9 dinards a pop for what we asumed was a "meal". We pleasantly returned to our office retreat with the expectation of the moments to come, where savory shawarma would be pressed against our lips. However are dreams were short lived as we opened the containers and stood there in idle dismay.Where was the rice? Where was the pita!?! 2 years ago gas was $1.60, and pita and rice were included.Now it's $3, and all you get is some white sauce that resembles guano.How was the food you asked?The taste was nothing more than a mirage!
