This disarming little shoe emporium tucked away in a corner of Harbor East is one of Baltimore's best kept secrets. My wife and I stumbled across it on our way to Whole Foods (on the far corner same block) and were delighted with what we found. If your ideal shoe store is Payless, then skip Benjamin Lovell. However, if you are looking for nothing but high quality, comfortable shoes that pay you back in quality and effortless mobility, then you must visit this store. All the top brands, Ecco, Mephisto, J-Shoes, and many more. And yes, they occasionally have sales so check often and grab a tremendous deal.
Now, the best part of shopping at this little shoe gem ... the staff. What a pleasure to walk into a shoe store and actually have knowledgeable sales people who truly seem to care about fitting you with the right shoe -- for you. The staff is all male as far as I can see, but my wife says she thinks that's the right mix since they are all cute! Uh, OK, I'll take her word for it. The point is, Josh, Jeff, and Jason all know their shoes. Hmm... maybe it should be named 'J3'. They can actually explain why a particular shoe is one you will like when you walk out of the store and like walking in a year later. They are very friendly and very eager to find what's right for you. After 2 minutes in the store you feel like you're talking with family. Very casual and very comfortable shopping.
