I had always had a positive impression of Best Marble and had read positive reviews at other sites. So we contracted with them to install granite countertops for our kitchen remodel. The price quoted was reasonable, neither the highest nor the lowest. When we went to view the templates placed on the slab, we were first kept waiting because things were not ready even though we called ahead more than the 30 minutes advised (our salesman knew we were coming and what time we would arrive). Once we began to view the templates, the salesperson indicated he had made an error and had omitted the fact that we had a peninsula from the original estimate, stating we would owe another $800. When we were upset, the owner's son advised our salesman to contact his father, the owner, explaining the situation and the fact that Best Marble was not ready for us. The salesman did not do the latter and eventually had my husband talk to the owner, resulting in an agreement to proceed with the original cost estimate. The installers were very pleasant and personable the first time but did leave some scratches at the seams. They had to return a second time for the backsplash and scratched the countertop while installing it. They willingly polished the scratches this time but did not listen to me or my husband when we stated the backsplash was incorrectly installed over the outlets. 2 days later our electrician said the electrical boxes should be flush with the granite and we needed to have it fixed. When the installers returned they did correct the problem but were very surly and angry about it and cut some of the electrical wires without telling us. After they left, I also noted that some of the countertop had not been correctly polished but by this time I did not want to deal with these people ever again.
Pros: Great at hiding seams, workers were on time
Cons: Aspects of work had to be re-done, workers were unpleasant about this
