My son just got a dog from the Humane Society & he paid a fee upfront to have the dog neutered. He had to goto Best Friends to have it done. She did a horrific job. The incision was bleeding & not closed properly. When he picked the dog up he asked about any pain meds, her response was the humane society doesn't cover that. My son asked if he could pay cash for some. She said they only way he could get pain meds for his dog was to pay the $30 office call, then she would sell him pain meds. A friend (who is a nurse) looked at the incision & called the vet & said her work was terrible. The vets response was, "IT WAS JUST A HUMANE SOCIETY DOG". That poor dog cried for 4 hrs. I told my son to take him to Rockwood Animal Hospital immediately & they actually took photos, gave him a checkup, antibiotic meds & pain meds for free because the dog was in so much pain. (I have never seen a dog cry so much in my life and I'm a dog person!) The wound was aready infected 4 hours after the surgery. Please don't take your pets here, for their sake! ||[]||[]As far as the Lincoln County Humane Society, they need to check into what they are putting their animals through by sending them to Best Friends. If Best Friends thinks any animal is inferior to another (just because it came from the humane society), they have a problem. If that is your attitude the Lincoln County Humane Society should get a new vet that actually cares about animals and their well being no matter what. I know Best Friends is suppose to be helping the humane society for caring for the animals at a very low cost, but if you don't care don't help! Please don't make any more animals suffer.||[]||[]I actually had 3 of my dogs neutered at Best Friends 2 out of the 3 were not done to my standards and I DID PAY FULL PRICE FOR ALL!||[]If you care about your animals at all don't take them to Best Friends!
