The store is definitely not a place for everyone and the location is discreet, so it is a little bit hard to find. I guess it has to be this way because of all of the high-profile celebrities and their stylists that have shopped there. \r \r I may not be a celebrity, but they treated me vip style, all BEFORE I expressed any intention to buy, which I think that alone earns a 5 star rating. I ended up buying a pair of sunglasses (which took me ages to decide if the style fitted me), the sales lady was kind enough to suggest different styles and provide feedback too, 2 rings, 2 necklaces and 1 leather jacket for my boyfriend. I also love that all of their products are hand made in LA! Another good thing is the valet parking and espresso. I would recommend this shop to my friends but would also recommend to call and make an appointment with a stylist before heading to the shop so they can have a glass of prosecco ready for you when you get there! more

If you cant find this place, your'e not cool enough. I love that the Beryll store doesn't have neon signs to attract tourists and lame crowds. Their collection is expensive because everything is exclusive and hand made, which makes sense since when you buy a cheap item of clothing it's probably made in China and definitely not by the hands of real American workers. But made in LA products cost more and that's a fact. Beryll has an amazing selection of sunglasses, all hand crafted details...yes their sunglasses are $400 +. Their jewelry is really nice too...some are less expensive than others, but nice nonetheless. I like how you can feel the luxury in all the fabrics and materials. \r All i can say is, if you can afford to buy Beryll stuff, youre fit to be in the Hollywood scene.\r Ive seen so many celebs at the store it's funny. They also give you free water, even prosecco. If you never got the water, that probably means you look cheap so this store probably isn't for you. \r more

I had always been a fan of +Beryll sunglasses and belts, and was surprised to learn that they had a physical store in Santa Monica. I guess that given all of the celebrities and stylists that come by, they keep the store somewhat low profile. I called to see if I'd need to set up an appointment few weeks ago to do some holiday shopping, and told to come by any time during regular business hours. When I came, I was surprised to find that there's a team of professional stylists on hand to cater to your every need! The staff was so lovely and they made me an espresso while I shopped and gave some great recommendations that I myself wouldn't have thought of! Like I said, I mostly came to buy sunglasses and belts, but their collection of leather bags and jewelry is to die for! The leather is so soft and sleek, and the jewelry is simply classic. These are pieces that will last a lifetime in terms of both quality and aesthetic, so you definitely get what you pay for. It's luxury! I'll definitely be back again soon and am excited to have been put on the list to be notified about special sample sales! more

Horrible service 3/23/2012

Customer service is not only non-existent, but they outright insult you. TL;DR I went to one of their sample sales and saw a leather bag I liked. Petra Berg, their PR person, was really sweet, telling me how cool this bag is and how much it sells. They had it in black, but they showed me a catalog picture in metallic grey and that looked like something I would actually want. The price seemed reasonable too, or as reasonable as it would get, so I ordered it. I had to pay in advance and they told me they'd let me know when it arrives. They estimated about 4 weeks. This was August 8, 2011. 4 weeks later I email them, but they tell me the bags aren't there yet, but should be soon. I email them again and again, always with the same response. On November 2, almost 3 months later!, I get an email saying the bags are finally there and I can come pick mine up. When I get there, they hand me a bag that looks very much like the black one they had at the sample sale, only with a bit more metallic spray on. When I tell them that's not the bag I paid for, they tell me all the bags are handmade and they all look different. Now, the metallic grey I wanted looked like a light grey toward purple, while this was fairly obviously black - just with a ton of metallic spray on top to make it look metallic grey. I explain all this to Petra Berg, which seems to be the person in charge of the store, to which she tells me that I must remember incorrectly and this is exactly what I ordered. Not in a very nice way either. I ask for my money back, since I didn't feel like paying for something I didn't want, and she gives me a definite no, but tells me I can have store credit for something else. The bag was 50% off their usual price and everything else in the store was ridiculously overpriced, so I definitely didn't want anything else from there. The bag was the only thing that was somewhat affordable that I actually wanted. Long story short, seeing that there's no way to get my money back or the bag I actually wanted I started looking at all the variations of the black bag they had available and settled for one of them. When I got back home I opened a Better Business Bureau complaint against them, to which they didn't deem to reply, so now at least there's a public complaint against them for 3 years. I will definitely never buy anything else from them ever again. more
