I went in for an oil change and state inspection. Was told a serpentine belt and AC belt were required for my vehicle to pass state inspection. My gut instinct told me to walk away, but I've done business with Firestone for a long time and trusted the suggestion. When I got home I called the Tx Dept of Public Safety and was not surprised to hear these belts are not required to pass state inspection. I returned to the store and waited about 20 minutes to speak with the acting manager, Imelda Charles. When she finally came to assist me she didn't address me or look at me and contended that I was never told I needed and AC belt. She insisted the serpentine belt needed to be replaced due to excessive cracking. She denied everything she'd previously told me, and became loud, rude and sarcastic. I went home to contact the district office where I was treated courteously and the matter was settled expeditiously. I will not do business with this location again; I advise those who do to beware.
