This old house turned into a museum, is life like it was in the 1800s. Kids may not find it as interesting, but they will learn a lot of they pay attention to the rich history that this museum holds. This was once originally a house owned by the Bernhards, and they try to keep it in its 1800s state. It's a great place to go and learn, take the spouce! A donation is required. more

An affordable family outing!! 8/7/2005

The Bernhard Museum, located in the lovely foothills of Auburn, California, is a nice affordable spot to take the family!! The museum is actually a home that the Bernhard's owned in the 1800's, and is loaded with actual items from the Berhards. There are docents who are dressed in appropriate 1800's attire that take you through the house and the barn, and the tour is very educational. This would be good for school aged children. A donation is expected at the door. Very neat historical site!! Educational for the whole family. more
