After locating a gently-used Civic Hybrid online, I had an exchange with Harvey the inernet sales manager at the Bernardi dealership about test-driving the car the next day (a Saturday - I work). In addition to these emails, on Saturday morning, Harvey called me (not vice versa) and assured me that the Hybrid was still there and again reiterated that his ""team"" would be ready.
When my husband and I arrived there on Saturday, braving the copious traffic around the Natick malls, I asked for Harvey as directed. He came out to see us after a few minutes but immediately handed us off to Scott (I think Brown). We were asked to wait for a few minutes. At least 15 minutes later, Scott came back to say that Bernardi did not have a used Civic Hybrid in stock. One was apparently on the way but not there yet, the one I had emailed and spoken about was ""no longer there"". When I asked what happened, Scott said Harvey made ""a mistake"". Although I appreciated his honesty, we did not get the profuse apology I would have expected nor any offer of any way to make it up to us.
Obviously Harvey not only did not have his ""team ready"", the car I was promised to test drive was not there. My husband and I wasted more than an hour of our lives each traveling to Bernardi for nothing. I did get to test drive a Honda Civic Hybrid at another dealer later that evening and loved it. I will be buying one but not from Bernardi; I will never buy anything from them.
