Nice Shoes 8/22/2005

Berks has some really great shoes. There is a good selection and they tend to have good sales. The shoes are mostly good quality so you will be paying for that. There is a lot of trendy stuff that may be undesirable next season so beware of investing too much money in that. But, there is a lot of quality classic stuff that will last a while. more

Best place for groovy shoes on the East Side 8/21/2005

Berks is the place to go for stylish shoes in Providence. The shoes range from cheap to moderately expensive, but all are trendy or at least up to date. There are fewer mens shoes than womens, and no childrens shoes. The clothing selection is limited and casual. Although the store can get very busy at times, the staff is fairly attentive and helpful. more

Shoes 8/21/2005

Berks carries many designer brands shoes and some clothing. Their shoes selections are very pretty although they don’t have many sizes. The price is a bit expensive than from the ones you’ll find at the mall, but they almost always have a sale where you can find something you’ll like for a cheaper price. more

trendy & casual shoes 8/19/2005

Berk’s is a neat shoe store with probably the coolest shoes you’ll be able to find in Providence. They carry a variety of shoes for both men and women, with boots, sneakers, casual walking shoes, sandals, flip flops, etc. in a lot of trendy styles and brands – Diesel, Puma, Reef, etc. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There’s usually a nice sale going on with pretty good discounts. Also in the store are some clothes, but it’s not a big selection. The store reminds everyone that Thayer St. used to be local and independent, so keep supporting Berk’s before it turns into yet another chain. more

if you're looking for a place to buy designer jeans and shoes, then berk's is the place for you. and if you don't have the greens, check it out anyway because there's almost always a sale going on - probably because not too many people can afford the stuff at full price. at any rate, the shoe selection is great, especially for women. the fitting rooms are tiny. the staff is always helpful. more

great shoe and sandal selection 8/9/2005

I have not shopped for clothes here, but I am a big fan of their sandals. This is where I got my favorite pair of sandals that have a bottle opener on the bottom (made by reef). For its size, it has a good variety and a helpful staff. Somewhat on the expensive size, but it is conveniently located on thayer, and is worth checking out. more
