i have been to Benvenuti Ristorante two times On both occasions, the food was excellent and the portions were enormous! I could not resist the desserts which are amazing. The service was wonderful and is very accommodating to non-standard order items. I will go back again very soon! more

Tucked away in a small strip mall is this white table clothed Italian classic. This longtime East Hanover Italian treasure with a traditional menu draws a mature crowd.The chef (a partner) makes red sauces and soups that are outstanding and the pastas are always cooked to perfection, Desserts made on premises by Phil (another partner) are extraordinary. Adding to the friendly and informal setting, while taking your order or reciting the specials, Al (the third partner) may provide a worldly, philosophical and interesting commentary. more

Read all these good reviews, so I took my mom for easter 2009, the only thing good were the desserts, great cheese cake, carrot cake and chocolate, but the Main Entrees & apps, were horrible except for the calamari, we had the clams oregano were breaded clams with melted butter poured over them, no taste of oregano at all, the fried calamari was perfect, is the only reason I gave them two stars, for the main meal I ordered the chicken breast, eggplant & mozzarella, the chicken had no flaor and the mozzarella wasn't even melted, very disappointed with 80% of the meal so it looks like all the reviews were from family members or the owner himself because all the reviews ranted & raved on how good this place was, but it was not good at all, they need a new chef, bland food is not what I want to spend $135.00 for. PS and as for the head waiter remembering your food, is the biggest joke, soon as we sat down he said to my mom of you like the (and he named some dish) funniest thing was it was are 1st time there, now thats funny guess my mom reminded him of someone else, OR he just does that to everyone. PPS the place was 1/2 empty so you can't say the chef was rushed, he just can't cook. more

The ladies in my neighborhood get together every few months for "girls night out" and we unanimously vote to go here. Our most recent visit was on a Friday and the place was packed! The food is fabulous and the waiters are very attentive. When you sit down, they give you a plate of bruschetta while you look over the menu. We always order the fried calamari and a hot antipasta. Then, they bring out a house salad with a very tasty dressing. We all decide what we want, then the waiter comes over and recites the daily specials and everyone changes their mind over what to order because the specials sound so good. If you want something that's not on the menu, just ask. The portions are huge and we all end up taking home leftovers. They'll uncork your wine for you or serve your birthday cake for you. We have never been disappointed. more

Every time my dad comes to town its “Benvenuti's Here We come”! In all our visits, no one in my family has ever been dissatisfied. We’ll be there tomorrow night! more

Someone told us about this little restaurant tucked away on a side-street with a great menu, excellent food, and terrific value. It's a classy little restaurant (the waiters are in tuxedos) and it's B.Y.O.B.. They can accommodate little family gatherings although it might be a tight squeeze. Even so, all our guests "rave" about this little 'Ristorante'. Although you might not need reservations, I wouldn't risk it . . . . call ahead . . this place has a great reputation and is always busy. more

This formal Italian restaurant is very cultural feeling. The waitors are all dressed up and the place is very nicely decorated, with Italian opera music in the background. The food can be expensive, but I suggest going for the lunch special. It is a great deal, with soup, bread, salad, an entree, and coffee or tea (all of which was very delicious) all for nine dollars. more
