The absolute worst, rudest, and most angry service I have experienced in years! I went into the store last week looking for a pair of AE Peyton's that were advertised. They did ...

Best shoe store ever!! 9/14/2013

The only place in town that know how to fix shoes. Bennie's Shoes has been repairing my shoes and my wife's shoes for over 20 years. Here is where I tell my story. Last month my wife decide to take my Ferragamo loafer to my dry cleaner to get repair. Yes, my dry cleaners was cheaper than Bennie's. She surprised me with my repaired shoes from the dry cleaners. Thanks for nothing. Now my shoes look very bad and they no longer fit. The next day I took them to Brian (owner of Bennie's Shoes) and he made sure his shoe repair guys fixed my shoes the right way. Bennie's uses the best leathers around and I could tell the difference. So my wife who tried to save me a few dollars end up spending more because she made me repair the same shoe twice in one week. My wife is no longer allow to touch my shoes. Go see Brian at Bennie's Shoes. Great shoe repair!!!! They also have a great selection of men's shoes! Pros: Service, name brands at great prices, sizes, and selection more

Editorial review from Citysearch 5/25/2013

The best place in town to purchase shoes like Allen Edmonds, Cole Haan, J&M and Ecco.\r They discount every pair of shoes, also everything is new and current styles and 1st quality.\r See Rob if you want great service, he will make sure you great fit every time. I can see why Bennie's shoe is a Atlanta institution. Also, Bennie's has the best shoe repair in town. more

Offensively rude staff. I will never go back. Salesperson got hostile when I asked to try on a different size and chased me out to my car screaming. Besides, I got a similar pair at Jos A. Bank for less. more

WOW! A GREAT SHOE STORE 2/7/2012

The Best at shoe repairs 6/27/2011

Although everyone that works here is kinda cranky and old and pretty much rude, they have saved some very expensive shoes for me. Don't lose your payment reciept or they will charge you again. more

At Bennie?s Shoes, it?s a numbers game 3/24/2010

Consumers often talk about how phenomenal customer service was back in the day. At Bennie?s Shoes, they resent that. As you open the door, the aroma of shoe polish greets you like a firm handshake. Located in Buckhead Crossings, Bennie?s has been around for over 100 years, fixing men and women?s shoes the ?right? way. The cobblers, dressed like sartorial samurais, all have over 40 years of experience ? each. Most, the sons and nephews of retired cobblers, speak about their craft with passion and enthusiasm. The workstation is comprised with machines older than the men who operate them. A pleasant greeting is a minor aspect of good customer service. A quality job, honesty assessments, and strenuous solutions instead of quick fixes summarize the service you?ll receive at this Georgia gem. If you care about your shoes, you?ll take them to Bennie?s. more

THANK YOU FOR THE GREAT SERVICE 12/17/2009

I took my father last week into Bennies Shoes. He is a WWII vet and a real hero in my eyes. He has trouble walking, so his knees are just about done. God bless this 91 year old man. Pros: great service and prices more

WORST, RUDEST SERVICE EVER! 12/2/2009

The absolute worst, rudest, and most angry service I have experienced in years! I went into the store last week looking for a pair of AE Peyton's that were advertised. They did not have any in stock, but the salesman made a big pitch to bring in one of my older pair of AE's and give their re-crafting service a try for $90, which he said was way better than AE's. I went in this afternoon with a pair of old AE's wingtips for re-crafting. I encountered a man with a moustache who took my shoes, looked the over and just sneered at them. At first, he said that there was no way that they could be AE's. Another associate looked at them and confirmed that they were, in fact, AE's; which, of course, was obvious. He then said that they had been so poorly repaired that it would cost $100 or more to re-craft them. I said fine, but stated that I was quoted a price of $90. I paid him $100 and asked him their work was guaranteed. The guy just flipped. He stated that if I was unhappy with their work, too bad, that I would never get my money back. He then literally leaned over the counter and stated quite aggressively that no one in the store would have ever quoted a price of $90 to me (implying that I was a liar) and he literally grabbed one of the shoes out of my hand turned it over and started jabbing it in my facing pointing to the apparently poor prior repair work. I responded that I did not think that being yelled at or being abusive was a particularly effective customer service strategy and requested an immediate refund. He gave me my money back and then, I kid you not, he again grabbed one of the shoes out of my hand. At this point I had had enough and I told him in clear terms to let go of my shoes and then I departed. If the store manger or the owner of the store reads this, I ask him or her to contact me via YELP. An apology is expected. Pros: Moustached clerk angrily yelling at me? Cons: Moustached clerk grabbing shoes and jabbing in myface more

Best place in Southeast to buy shoes 9/10/2009

The guys at Bennie's are great. They actually told me I was wearing the wrong size shoe, then proved it to me. My feet feel so much better now tha i am wearing the correct size. Louie spent so much time with me. I got 3 pairs. They repair shoes there too. I overheard thgeir customers talking about how good their repairs were too! When I complained about the traffic, they told me I could order them from the web as well, that they had a website. I won't go anywhere else now that I've found Bennie's Shoes. Their prices were very good too! Pros: custome service is outstanding Cons: fighting Atlanta traffic to get there more

Shoes, Shoes and more Shoes with service! 9/10/2009

I have shopped at Bennie's for over 20 years. The staff is prompt, knowledgeable, friendly and the selections, service and down home feel are the best in the city. 90+% of the shoes I own have come from Bennie's. If I could change one thing it would be longer evening hours. Pros: Great selections, Great service Cons: Need later hours more

Great shoes at very low prices..all first quality 10/16/2008

Money has been getting tight lately so I have quit shopping at those overprice Malls and started to bargin hunt. Bennie's Shoes is a great place to find 1st quality shoes at great discount prices. Let me say this, most of what Bennie's Shoes carries is all current styles. Very few close-outs. I visited Bennie's this past Saturday and boy were they busy. I guess in this crazy market, the discount stores really look good. Pros: Great prices, very good service. Cons: I alway forget where they are located. Not Jimmy Carter Blvd, but Indian Trail. more

Best Shoe Repair in the City!!! 5/15/2008

ILOVE THIS PLACE!!!! The shoe repair is fantastic. If you go, see Jim. I only wear Jimmy Choo, Manolo Blahnik & Prada shoes. He is the only person in town....the southeast for that matter that can do the repairs on my shoes. He has been fixing shoes forever and I've never had a problem, neither has any of my friends. Go see Bennie's for all your repairs. Also, they are so nice and friendly. Service is outstanding!! Pros: Service, Friendly more

Do not go here for shoe repairs 3/24/2008

Bennie's ruined a pair of my brand new designer shoes. They ripped the insole while putting rubber on the bottoms, and then they refused to refund my money for the work that was done (you have to pay ahead of time). They were unapologetic and rude, and they said they'd rather lose a customer than give me a refund. There are countless shoes repair places in Atlanta; avoid this one. Pros: convenient location Cons: terrible work, bad service, rude employees more

All Current Styles 1/14/2008

I have been shopping with Bennie's Shoes since I first moved to Atlanta in 1988. The service is with out question the best (the dept. stores could learn from Bennie's). I saw one of the reviews mention that Bennie's has last years styles. This is not true. All Bennie's shoes carries is up to date styles. I was in Bennie's of Norcross last week and saw all the new styles they received from Allen Edmond (2008) and Cole Haan(2008). I have never written a review before, but since the people at Bennie's have been so nice to me and my father (who is 87 years old and is treated like a king when he comes into Bennie's) I thought I should set the record straight that they carry nothing but current styles not last years close-outs. Even if Neil Boortz talks about how much he loves Bennie's shoes, I will still go in there. Pros: Great selection and service more

Good Prices For Last Years Styles! 9/27/2007

As a kid growing up in Atlanta, my parents would take me to the old Broadview Plaza Shopping Center on Piedmont, to Bennie's for school shoes. It was always a pair of Bass Weejun's. When I grew up, I would occasionaly stop in, and pick up a couple of pairs. And yes the service is very good. And the prices are also. But as I became more sophisticated, the styles seemed rather dated. And they are. Most of the inventory is last years styles, at good prices. There is certainly nothing wrong with that. Pros: Decent Prices On Men's Shoes! Cons: Mostly Last Year's Styles! more

Good Savings On Non-Current Shoe Styles! 12/31/2006

My father used to buy shoes at the orginal Bennie's when it was located in the now defunct Broadview Plaza. And as a student at GSU, I did also. This is a locally owned family business, who happen to be very nice people. But today, I must say, there is really no merchandise that interest's me. Yes, they have very good prices and savings, but the styles are not that current. They appear to be close-outs, or special purchases. Bennie's has a loyal following, with those who buy by price, but without any style. Nice sales staff. Ladies shoes are on the way. Should be interesting! Pros: Locally Owned ATL Shoe Store! Good Prices! Cons: Not Current Styles! more

i need boots 12/15/2006

I hope my wife does not discover what a great place Bennie's is to shop. She has enough shoes. Me and my three sons have been shopping at Bennie's Shoes for many years because of the great SERVICE and PRICES. I wear nothing but Cole Haan (which i think they have every shoe Cole Haan makes), more

EXCE[TIONAL SHOE STORE 4/27/2006

Go to Bennie's if you want great selection, value, and service. You'll feel as I do, like one of the family. Pros: Service, Selection, Convenience more

A real shoe store 9/22/2004

Bennies has great service. I wear a size 14D and I can't believe the great amont of shoes I have to choose from. I hate to shop, but I sure do not mine going into Bennie's. Everyone in there honestly want to help you find the right pair of shoes. Now I know why every man in Atlanta shops at Bennie's. Pros: inexpensive, knowledgeable, friendly more
