Based on my third time, I will NOT return to this restaurant. It was 90F and only one other table besides my friend and me.
The only other table received their appetizer, ate it, was served their entree and even got a request for water filled before the server/owner asked us what we'd like to order ... and this included a first opportunity for me to ask for water.
What bothered me was that, although I saw her scurrying around and frantic with the other table. She never stopped for a second to ask us if we wanted beverages. I only heard her saying ""I'm all by myself."" Funny ... because as I watched the other table eat their entire meal before she acknowledged us, I thought ""maybe she's cooking the meal too.""
She didn't like me ordering ""nothing."" She became defensive and my poor gentleman (and he really is) finally had to remove himself. The server kept antagonizing me. As we walked away, she told me ""you need to learn to be polite.""
This was so insulting and anyone could hear this. I knew the service was a bit slow ... but we walked to It's Greek To Me ... the place was packed and we managed to be seated immediately and I got my water within 5 minutes.
Phoning Bennie's a day later, I found out that the server was a partner and had already filled in the ""manager"" of what happened. Actually the manager, told me he was an owner as well. He took her side, of course.
I know why the place is not busy ... the service needs to change their attitude. There are far too many restaurants to choose from and the food there is expensive for what you get.
Pros: Clean
Cons: Super slow service with an attitude
