Absolute nightmare. I've moved many times before with few issues. This company was recommended to me because of a corporate move. Every step of the move was sloppy and awful. None of the services promised were delivered. After promising unpacking service, only a single guy showed up in a truck and to me to unpack myself. A horror show. Stay away. Oh... And after this was done and over with, i was blamed for the damage to my possessions. Thank goodness I had taken photos the day before the move. more

Steer Clear 3/14/2012

DO NOT use this mover. I am a veteran of many cross-country corporate moves, so I know what to expect. I've never seen such a Jekyll-and-Hyde outfit: They were so folksy and sweet until our contract was signed, but everything changed the day the packers showed up - and it never got better, at either the origin or destination. From end to end, Beltmann's people were unresponsive and unprofessional, and they never stopped trying to nickel and dime us for additional charges, despite the fact that we had a binding contract. (My supposition is that the sales rep underestimated the job and the company was losing money on our move.) I'd give these people zero stars if Citysearch allowed me to do so. Think long and hard before you let these people pack your entire life into a trailer. more

Buyer Beware! 8/9/2010

We move a lot, and have used many movers. The shadiest dealings I?ve ever had were with these guys last summer. I got a quote from Randy w/ Beltmann, & it seemed low. Well, it was too good to be true. He low balled us & waited until the last minute to get us our contract. When we got it there was no binding estimate, and many fees were added on. more

Terrible experience 7/16/2010

My wife and I moved from Forest Lake, MN to Madison, WI using the Beltmann Group/North American Van Lines. Randy was very professional when he came out to do the estimate, but after that the office staff were grossly incompetent. ||| After giving us our estimate and promising our stuff would be delivered either the same day or the next day, the contract listed a 5-day window. We called and emailed both Ruth and Randy asking about the discrepancy and our multiple emails/phone calls were ignored. Sadly, my wife signed the contract and sent it to them anyway. ||| We continued to receive no communications from them until I started calling on a daily basis to find out what I could expect for a delivery date of my shipment. One week prior to our move, I was told that I shouldn't expect to know when in the 5-day window until the crew was packing up our stuff. I begrudgingly accepted that deadline from them and waited. ||| The day of the move arrived without additional communication from them. We knew the day they were coming, but not the time. Our phone calls to Ruth and Randy requesting that information were ignored until Ruth called to tell me the crew had left 10 minutes ago; they arrived about 20 minutes later. She also informed me that they still could not give me a delivery date for our furniture. ||| The move itself went great: the movers were professional and efficient, none of our stuff was damaged, and the stuff was delivered within the 5-day window in the contract. ||| I had hoped to put this behind me (and not bother writing a review), but I was reviewing my credit card bill (6 days after delivery) and noticed that they had never addressed the additional 10% fee that we had paid. I once again called and Ruth did actually return my phone call; however, she informed that they had underestimated the weight of our load by over 500lbs and we only will be getting ~$12 back. However, their accounting review won't be finished for another 5 weeks and I should call back then to find out exactly how much I'll be getting back (if any). I have no expectations that they will follow up with me on this, but by God, they will get a phone call from me in 5 weeks and I will get the money owed to me. ||| Bottom line: for an organization that markets to business clients, I wouldn't trust them to so much as move my desk across the room. They can't be counted on to communicate with you, they are impossible to plan around, and they don't seem to have too much concern what happens once they have your money. If you choose to go with them, I hope you have a better experience than I did or at least are better dealing with being ignored. Pros: Our stuff was not damaged Cons: Don't meet deadlines, don't return calls/emails more
