Its always been known that it's hard to find a repair shop that isn't going to nickle and dime you because most people don't know much about cars. I tried many other places and always got that feeling they were doing some unnecessary work. I finally came across this place, and this is the third time I've been here and I can tell they are honest. They will even take the time to show you the problem and explain what is going on with it using terms I can understand. I highly recommend this place if your tired of getting ripped off. more

Just got my Jeep back from these folks and they did a great service job. They've worked on three of my vehicles - including my classic car - and I trust them more than anyone else in town. This garage has fixed stuff on my cars that the dealer screwed up.\r It's a family owned operation that appreciates your business. more

I live down the block from Belmont Garage. I have always been happy with the work they have done on both our older Volvo 850s. They are trustworthy people. I actually took it in one time because it wouldn't start and they told me it was just flooded and only charged me to look it over. Another shop would have probably suggested it needed a tune up or other work, but they were very honest and didn't "invent" problems that weren't there. more

Have used Belmont for many years for Chrysler, Volvo, Jeep and Jaguar. Service is friendly, courteous and the work is always first class. I'm extremely satisfied and will continue to use Belmont! Thanks Mr. Lewis for having a good shop in a good neighborhood. more

Belmont Garage is the only garage I use and trust to service our family's various vehicles (Jeep and Toyota). We have been using them for more than 15 years to service our current vehicles and past ones. The staff at Belmont are always honest and knowledgeable about the services our vehicles need from oil change to major repairs. This is something I truely appreciate as many places including the dealerships aren't. Also, the customer service that the owner, Ray Lewis, provides is great ie they will take you home and pick you back up when your vehicle is ready. more

I have been using Belmont Garage since I moved to Dallas after college, about 14 years. A good mechanic is an important relationship to have, and Ray Lewis of Belmont Garage is a GREAT mechanic. He has worked on my Jeep, my Nissan, my Ford, my Chevy and my mother's Lincoln. I bring my cars to him for oil changes, inspections, and everything else. The customer service is amazing, Mr. Lewis is always so kind. When I sold my Nissan, the individual who bought it looked through my maintenance receipts, looked under the hood, and said, ""so they [Belmont Garage] just take care of you, huh?"" And I said, ""Yes. They take care of me."" And they do. I recommend them to everyone without hesitation, confident they'll be as pleased as I have been. Pros: honest, fair Cons: none! more

Belmont Garage is, bar none, the best auto service shop I've ever dealt with. I've taken an older car from the '60s and a new car with a modern engine, and they've provided excellent service for both. These are people you can trust. more

Belmont Garage is a great place to have your car worked on despite what the other reviews say. This is the only place I will have my car serviced as they are honest and straight forward with you unlike many other dealers and repair places. The charges that I have been charged are comparable to any other place you can go plus many times they are less than the dealer with regard to labor. If you are looking for someone who is honest, professional, and knowledgeable, this is the place to go more

I have been using Belmont Garage for almost ten years for oil changes and tune ups. I have always been very satisfied with the service. Ray Lewis, the owner, has always been straightforward and honest with me about what my car needs and what it will cost. I would recommend this garage to my friends with no hesitation. more

A few weeks ago, my car started hesitating on acceleration. I took it to Belmont Garage and was told that it simply needed a tune-up. Somehow, this tune-up wound up costing me $680! I will admit, I know nothing about cars. If a mechanic says ""this is what is wrong and this is how much it will cost to fix it,"" I've always just accepted it to be true. Anyway, a few days after getting the car back from being ""fixed,"" the hesitation returned. I took it back about two weeks later and was told that it needed an ignition coil and alternator. I was also told it would cost $1,000 plus tax. OMG! This time I wised up. I called two other garages in the area. The first said that parts and labor and tax would be $600. Yep, that's $400 less. The second place said, ""Bring us the parts and will charge you $210 for labor."" I purchased an alternator for $135 and ignition coil for $95 at Midway Auto Supply. Let's see $135 + $95 + $210 = $340. I saved $660 by NOT LETTING BELMONT TOUCH MY CAR! \r \r Did I mention that, after telling Belmont I didn't want them to ""fix"" my car, they tried to charge me a $168 diagnosis fee? After complaining to the owner that I paid to diagnose the issue a couple weeks ago and that if they had diagnosed it correctly then, I wouldn't have had to bring the car in again, he reduced the charge to $77. Had I not complained, I would have been out $168! Insane! \r \r Seriously, folks - shop around - but not here. Skip Belmont. Your wallet will thank you. more
