rapids swim spots 5/28/2008

this place is awesome there is also a back entrance to the isle im not exactly sure of the location of the entrance tho either way if u go across the bridge and around to the back of the isle wich means head down the left path not the right thats the long way go down till u pass the old lock gate station then youll see like a walkway to the left go down the walkway and down the latter till u get to the rapid are this is were a lot of ppl swim in the fresh water and theres a light current not too dangerous tho i have no problem with it wen im there if u make it all the way across the river there is a small tower and at the top of that is the back entrance to belle isle well wen u take the right path as i mentioned earlier ull see a lake with a climbing area also a nice place were i like to freeclimb there are also paths that go around the cliffs and along the top wich will take u over the isle and threw another climbing spot till u end up at the other path but if u go past the lake and climbing spot ull come to the beginning of the much faster rapids were i see ppl kyaking and such but in general this place is awesome good spot to spend the day at wen u dont have any money admittance is free i have a blast everytime more
