We went here for my grown daughter's birthday. There were 8 of us. The good: we were seated immediately and the place was empty all night so we could really enjoy our party as ...

On a stormy night, it was nice to be in a comfortable place with great food and personable service. The tilapia was delightful. The ravioli are to die for. Pros: Friendly, Abundance more

I'm surprised at poor reviews 5/22/2003

Expensive but worth it was my impression. Attentive service both at the bar and at the dinner table. Good food. more

INCREDIBLE! 12/19/2002

The food was absolutely incredible. We received exceptional service, and it's small enough to be personal. You're not one of 150 tables in the restaurant. more

Have the 3's and 4's really eaten here?? 12/3/2002

Bellagio is as good as it gets for Italian in Austin. The service is absolutely first rate. A friend who lives up the hill from the restaurant introduced us to it and we go back at least once a month. The Sicilian seafood platter is fantastic. Pros: Parking, Service more

Like Nonna's 8/2/2002

The food here was the closest I've found, ever, anywhere, to my Nonna's recipes. She's a Sicilian whose folks came from Ragusa. She knows how to cook, I know how to eat, and yet, Bellagio floored me. For Southern Italian food in Austin, this is the place. Oh, and the servers are as good as the food: pleasant, friendly, not overbearing...superb. more

Fantastic Food, Nicest People 6/17/2002

My fiancee and I stumbled upon Bellagio on Valentine's Day 1999. To say that we subsequently became regulars would be an understatement. The Italian food at Bellagio is easily the best in Austin, but what makes this place truly exceptional are the people. Joseph and Isabella have assembled an amazing team of waitstaff...and the best bartender in Austin with Jim Savage. Sad to say, we moved away from Austin late last year, but make sure that every trip back includes at least one amazing meal at Bellagio. more

All I want to say is that I have had much better Italian food. The serivce wasn't very prompt either. The location is quite secluded, though, and there isn't much of a crowd. So if you're looking for privacy, then consider this place, but if you're looking for good Italian food then look elsewhere. Pros: Quiet, Good parking, No crowd Cons: Food not great, Service wasn't prompt, Limited variety more

  • In Short
Bellagio has a refined, classic feel and encourages an unrushed, quiet dinner. An antique walnut bar offers a peaceful spot to decompress with an aperitif. The spacious dining room creates understated elegance with scored concrete floors, taupe walls with cream molding, gilded mirrors, paintings and sculpture. Baked risotto is prepared in a small dish lined with paper-thin slices of eggplant. For dessert, the pignoli torte consists of chopped pine nuts mixed into a shortbread-like torte.
