I had migraine since I was 11 and now I am 54, I had to wrote this a long time ago but I am enjoying my life and I didn't had time( because I have had migraine almost every day and now I am very well) Sorry Dr. Belaga, because I had to say THANK YOU VERY MUCH before but I always wait for someone translate for me, my English is not the best( I am Brazilian) But I decide wrote with my bad English anyway, Dr. Belaga was very kind and he knows very well about migraines, I can tell, because I came for a Brazilian family of doctors almost everybody have migranes. My internist and family doctor whom I trust referred me to Dr. Belaga for a complete neurological exam. They scheduled me for my appointment within the week. I really appreciated that because my symptoms were quite scarry. The patients waiting room is lovely and has a serene and nurturing atmosphere. After 20 minutes of waiting, his medical assistant put me in the exam room. Dr. Belaga reviewed my past medical history and gave me a complete neurological exam. Then, he referred me for MRI and MRA at the Health Diagnostics Center in Sacramento St. at the Embarcadero. The facility in turn gave me an appointment the next day. Dr. Belaga's office staff obtained an approved authorization for MRI and MRA procedures. Everything was ready for me when I got to the facility. The results and CDs were sent back to Dr. Belaga's office the same day. Later that night, he called and discussed with me his impressions of my brain. He said, ""everything was normal and you will be fine"" It felt like a ton of lead was lifted off my back. I am a new person! Thank God, I did not have to go through weeks or months of torturous waiting time and anxiety attacks. Thank you Dr. Belaga for your compassion to alleviate my fearful concerns. I also commend the conscientious office staff. This is what medicine should be. more

Dr. Belaga and his entire staff are a dream come true! I agree that there are not enough stars to rate my experience that I had with them. From the moment I walked in (actually before) I found myself greeted with a warm embrace of compassion. The Dr. himself is amazingly knowledgeable and understanding of my past experiences! I found him to be courteous, non-judgmental, easy going and he is a genius.\r \r After about 1 and a half years of living with undeniable pain and an experience just finding someone who could and would help me, I was referred by CPMC to Dr. Belaga. It was honestly the best thing anyone has ever done for me. I am actually happy that I went here instead of UCSF (long story, but I did NOT have a good experience with them in this case. So no matter what they are rated, it was not the best place for me) and from the consult to diagnosis to treatment I felt that I was given the best advice, treatment and aftercare possible. \r \r After treatment I actually felt really dizzy and a little ill due to the medication I was given and Cecilia (she is a true gem and wonderful person - Dr. Belaga is lucky to have her!) and Dr Belaga had me rest in the back room for a while. Cecilia even brought me a warm blanket and offered to open the window so I could get some fresh air when I told her I did not feel well and was cold. \r \r My point to this previous statement is this: They go well beyond the normal scope to ensure their patients are well cared for as well as being comfortable and that is more than I can say for 99% of other practices. I am blessed to have found Dr. Belaga and plan to continue treatment with him.\r \r I highly recommend if you have any issues he may be of help with that you go straight to him! Pros: A doctor that listens, and knows his stuff! Great Staff Cons: none! Which makes it all the better! more

I would be remiss if I didn?t take time out of my schedule to acknowledge the great care I have been receiving from Dr. Gary Belaga. After 3 1/2 years of finding no relief from my on-going headaches and after many scans, various doctor?s appointments, medication, physical therapy, food diaries, mattress/pillow modifications and exercise, a friend received an advertisement from Dr. Belaga?s office and passed it along to me. He was my last hope, I wanted to give up. I called, made the appointment and was greeted by friendly staff and a caring and compassionate doctor. He listened intently and determined where my headaches where coming from and gave me Botox shots in the shoulder, neck and forehead. Within days I could see light at the end of the tunnel, relief was on it way. HEADACHES vanished!!! He set up a treatment plan to see him every 3 months for additional shots in the same area. This was my second visit and what a blessing.. Thank you Dr. Belaga for being there when I needed help. Pros: On time and listens to your needs!!! more

I've been seeing Dr. Belaga for about a year, and am still very impressed with him. I have suffered from migraines since I was 16 years old, and have seen my fair share of neurologists, and Dr. Belaga has been the most effective by far. He is sympathetic and has catered to my specific type of headache. I have felt much better in the year I have seen him, and plan to continue treatment. I'm very thankful for being referred to him! more

I had a seizure and needed to make an appointment with a neurologist right away. I called Dr Belaga's office to schedule an appointment and I was able to schedule an appointment for the following day. The fact that I was able to schedule an appointment with him right away, when every other doctor had a 3+ week waiting period should have raised a red flag.\r \r Dr Belaga was absoluteley the worst doctor that I have ever seen. He spent a total of five minutes with me for the initial visit and the followup. He has an extremely cocky and condescending attitude, and I felt like I had to pull information out of him. He advised me to get an EEG and MRI test, after which I visited his office again to tell me that the results were normal. He did not explain anything about the test or my condition. It was a total waste of time because the testing centers each sent me a report that told me that the results were negative. So he basically funneled me through the office two times and charged me over $500 each time. Pros: You can get an appointment the same day! Cons: Does not care about patients! more
