Very misleading practices. They will charge you for their employees *travel time* from their warehouse. Their packers were at our house for 4.5 hours, yet they tried to charge us for 8 hours. When I asked why, all they would say is "traffic". Two issues here: 1. They never told me up front this was their policy and 2. their warehouse is at most a 25 minutes drive from my house. Liars. After some discussion, they offered to take 1 hour off of their bill claiming that it took their drivers 1 hour in each direction. ha! The sad thing is I have used these guys twice before over the years and never had a problem. They must have had a "management change." Too bad they won't ever get my business again.
UPDATE - Apparently reviews on CitySearch gets more action than complaining directly to the company. A "senior manager" saw my admittedly colorful yet factually correct review above and decided to call me to find out why I would say such things. Um, because it is true? To attempt to charge me for 8 hours when the packers were only present for 4.5 means something is fundamentally wrong. I can't prove it was intentional, but the bottom line is it did happen and to give me lame excuses (when I originally complained) like "traffic" just doesn't cut it and only serves to infuriate me.
Anyway, it was a fair discussion I had with her. I pointed out that from her customer's perspective, there is no accountability in the way they charge hours and there should be. So I will add +1 star for the follow-up effort. Just wish they would have been more receptive to my complaint at the time of the complaint and not only after I publicly review them.
Pros: The laborers are courteous and responsive to your needs
Cons: Management will mislead you on their billing practicces
