We wanted to experience Southern hospitality/formality in one of its oldest truest forms, so opted for dinner at Galatoire's. My husband found his asparagus salad very fresh, his crabmeat maison good, and his filet mignon ""perfect."" My shrimp remoulade had quite a kick, the green salad with garlic much the same (tangy!), but the crabmeat St. Pierre had a bit too much pepper. Appetizer and salad portions were ample (for us). The banana bread pudding was divine. Coming from San Francisco, we thought it an incredible deal to have 3 courses each, share a dessert, consume a bottle of wine, two glasses of champagne, and a cognac with a total of a mere $155. You will NEVER find value like that in the Bay area. I'll be back for Friday lunch next time.
