My husband and I just enjoyed a three night stay at the Beddin' Down and couldn't be happier about our decision to stay there as part of our 1st wedding anniversary celebration. Owners Lance and Patti were very friendly and welcoming. They were very willing to recommend restaurants, shops and activities that they enjoyed in the Salida area (The Laughing Ladies Restaurant was highly recommended and well worth the $). Their children were a delight and also very friendly. Each morning we awoke to the smell of delicious breakfast cooking (all included an egg dish and fresh fruit, though Patti did ask for feedback on guests food allergies, preferences). The location was very near activities that we enjoyed in the area and had gorgeous veiws of the surrounding mountains. We had a very short drive to get to horseback riding, white water rafting and excellent mountain biking trails. We stayed in the Pueblo Sunrise room (aka True Grit) and had an excellent nights sleep each night. The sunrise view from the window is gorgeous, worth waking up at 5 am at least once during your stay. This was our first bed and breakfast experience and we definitely will be recommending the Beddin' Down to anyone visiting the Salida area.
Pros: Authentic western atmosphere, Veiws, Location near activities, Friendly hosts
