We had a wedding registry at Bed Bath and Beyond. One of our items was purchased in duplicate so we went to this store to exchange the item for something else. Overall the employees were very pleasant but once our transaction got difficult (because the 20% discount wasn't given to us and I didn't notice it until after the transaction was complete), the experience became unpleasant. Another employee, CJ was clearly unhappy with the female employee for making the mistake and didn't try to hide it at all. It was awkward and instead of jumping in to help correct the situation he let the employee continue to struggle through it until it was clear that the employee couldn't do it on her own. I felt bad for the employee for being disrespected in front of us and I didn't like the unnecessary hassle for us since it was clear that CJ could have fixed it much faster if he had wanted to. I was even more surprised to find that CJ (the unhelpful employee) is a store manager! He was very unpleasant and unprofessional. We wasted a lot of time waiting instead of shopping, and when it was all done, we decided not to shop. CJ lost us as customers (and perhaps some others in the store). We will never go to this store again.
