A great restaurant/bar for the college folk 4/5/2006

Ask most students at CSU where their favorite bar is and it just might be Becky's. We're talking college students, so any place near the school that sells beer is a plus, but since I don't drink, I know there's more to Becky's since I am drawn to it. Two words CURLY FRIES! They have Cajun seasoning and are just to die for. The best fries I have ever had. I'm also a fan of the veggie burgers there. They have a few dart boards and a pool table, which make it a great place to just hang out. Also, the food isn't pricey at all. Their baskets of fries are HUGE, so make to share with about 6 of your friends. Becky's is located on E 18th off of Euclid and is practically on the Cleveland State campus. My beef with this place is that I reek of cigarette smoke whenever I go, so I can't give it 5 stars even though Becky's can't completely take the blame for that one. So come in for a drink or many and some great food. more

    From outward appearances, Becky's might be mistaken for a rundown supermarket. But step inside and it's a whole other story. The wares it hawks include "food and spirits," which translates into "this is a bar that doubles as a very casual restaurant," with plenty of tables and stools, pool, a couple of video games and a few TVs. If you're in your early-to-mid 20s and need a downtown relaxation spot, Becky's is a cool, lively environment that just happens to be presided over by cute, alcohol-slinging minxes who are truly a joy to behold.

    That Whole "Food and Spirits" Thing
    The food is standard bar issue?burgers and wings and whatnot?but the portions are generous and the preparation is well above average. The booze is basically the same you'll find anywhere, but at Becky's, it's a little different. Okay, it's not. But take one look at the young lady serving it to you and you'll think otherwise.
