Best cakes and cinnamon rolls around! 8/2/2007

Oh such wonderful baked goods! My sister and I grew up in Donelson and had Becker's cakes for every birthday. And cinnamon rolls whenever possible. The cakes are still just a good...40 years later! In fact, my sister is driving from Murfreesboro to Donelson to get our "shared" birthday cake this year. They're simply the best I've ever tasted. After living 25 years in Texas, it's great to get a Becker's cake again! Pros: delectible baked goods! Cons: only that i live 50 miles away! more

best cakes in town! 8/24/2006

One of the special things my mom did for us growing up was getting a bakery cake for our birthdays. Not one from a grocery, a real bakery. I found Becker's when I moved to Nashville and have been able to carry on the tradition with my family. more

A Donelson tradition, a wonderful family bakery 7/21/2006

I grew up in Donelson and my family always got everything from Beckers Bakery. Their fudge pies are to die for! Today, I am 46 years old and I have continued the tradition of getting all my cakes and pies from Beckers. Their Orange Chiffon cake is the ultimate. I don't know what happened with the one lady who complained about the dry cakes. I think if she had said something to the owners they would have done something to correct it as their family reputation means alot to them I know. If you live anywhere in Donelson or Hermitage this should be your bakery of choice! Yes, the cookies are excellent as well. Having "grown up" with this bakery, it's a part of our family and will continue to be for however long it stays in business. Pros: Childhood memories and delcious baked goods--family owned bakery, The BEST! Cons: Parking can be a problem, but you can just go next door temporarily if needed. more

All Sorts of Goodies 7/18/2006

Becker's has been my bakery of choice since I first tried a piece of their Pecan Pie. They have all types of treats including pies ,cakes, cookies and other treats. Pick up one or hundred and they are all consistent. PROS: Different Types of Treats CONS: more

Cakes are Bad, Cookies are great! 4/25/2006

I bought my daughter's 1st Birthday cake from here and it was SO Dry, my whole family and all the guests complained. I thought maybe they were having a bad day so i ordered her 2nd cake from there as well. No change. The icing was pure sugar and the cake was pure flour. It was horrible. The cookies they have placed out are always tasty. I would not recommend for cakes unless you like them very dry and flour like. Becker's has been the perennial staple in Donelson business community for a number of years now. Our business has used Becker's for all our corporate parties. I also use this bakery for all of my personal needs as well. The pink, green, and yellow butter cookies are simply the best! Pros: Value, Expertise, Taste Cons: None! more

Specialize in cakes 11/29/2005

Becker's Bakery is convenient to Nashville. The bakery is always busy with customers putting in special orders for their famous cakes. The cakes are usually good, although the last one I had from there was a little dry and did not taste good the next day. They will also include mints for baby shower or wedding cakes. This adds a special touch. Becker's has been around for years and is very popular with Nashvillians. more

This is a Donelson institution...it has been a very good bakery for many years. They do wedding cakes or just cookies and goodies. I have used them many times. PROS: good food CONS: small, not fancy more

I've been trading with Becker's Bakery since I was a young girl. My family traded with them. They make outstanding cookies, pies and cakes. In fact, they made my wedding cake, and did a great job. Their carrot cake is to die for. If you like pecan pies, this is the place; however, I warn you, if you want one during the holidays, YOU MUST ORDER IN ADVANCE. This is another storefront in my local community that I like to frequent and give my business. You won't be sorry! Give them a try. PROS: Carrot Cake, Pecan Pike, Coconut Cake CONS: nothing low cal, lol more
