I spent four of my undergraduate years in Houston, and eventually found a Vietnamese stylist that I loved and went to regularly. Fast forward to now, and I find myself in Boston looking for a place to get a haircut--I got one with an Italian dude and other with a Russian lady, both were more money than I wanted to spend, and the haircuts were horribly uneven with several stray hairs that were missed.
I had my haircut with Judy, who I believe is the store owner. She's meticulous, talking with me about how I wanted my hair and going over it several times to make sure of its evenness and to catch any random hairs. She asked me several times how close I wanted it, really working to make sure it was perfect. I got a clipper on the sides and a razor cut on the top with some thinning. She spent total around 40 minutes on a very straight forward guy's haircut and also gave me a decent shampoo. I paid $15 for the cut, shampoo, and a $1 student discount. The regular cut is $12 with the student discount.
I'll be coming back again.
