Wayne and his company did a complete installation of the AC and heating in my home about 5 years ago, and I am still paying the price of their incompetence. Months after he installed a brand new central air conditioning system, the AC never worked properly, causing us to swelter in the summer without Beacon bothering to identify the problem or fix it. One of the AC units had stopped cooling right after Wayne installed it, and though it was still under warranty, he took forever to come out to replace the condenser and recharge the Freon. Only at the end of the summer, after repeated calls, did he come out to the house and attempt to fix the problem. Because of the long wait for the repair, it cost me over fifteen hundred dollars in electric bills to cool the house with a single unit.
But this was only the beginning of my headache. The AC units never had adequate coolant, because of insufficient Freon pressure. The house never had proper flow of AC or heat on any of the floors. The second floor bedroom broiled in the summer, froze in the winter, and the bathrooms were either cold as meat lockers or hot as brick ovens, because all the heating or cooling somehow got dumped into them. Not only that, the HVAC unit was so loud on the third floor that it sounded like a jet aircraft taking off every time the automatic thermostat tripped the unit on. The heater also had not been vented to the roof properly which violates NY code.
I pleaded with Wayne to at least fix these problems, since we’d given up on his ability to repair anything else, and he reluctantly came to the house, installed an enormous, ugly vent in the wall, along with a few others downstairs, and demanded $1000 for the trouble! Needless to say, none of his “repairs” fixed our problems.
After 3 years of dealing with this incompetence, I called a reputable company to deal with these issues, and the owner thought the HVAC had been installed by a "butcher."
Beacon Light Mechanical should really go into another business. Maybe off-shore drilling...
