The Scene
Let's just acknowledge at the outset that Redington Beach is awfully nice: Big, wide stretch of sand, sea spray and deep blue of the gulf, gulls wheeling; the Beachside Grill's big ace is its location just a few steps off the sand-very handy, and patronized by locals. OK, maybe most of the eight tables nestled in its tiny confines were dirty; get over it. Order a beer from the teensy bar, and adjourn to the back patio outside.
The Food
Standard American, with quite a few seafood dishes on the menu.
What to Order
Try the simplest dishes, like hot dogs or subs. The fish was ... uh, less than fresh. The more complicated dishes, like black beans and rice, lacked flavor and spice, and had not been properly heated. The iced tea and Key lime pie were acceptable.
