Average restaurant, nice location. 10/27/2005

On my second visit to Park Chalet last week I found that the service, timing and food had improved from six months ago. Food is average, our waitress was a very efficient and friendly. However I think the management needs an attitude adjustment. Its funny when a servers' good attitude makes up for the bad attitude of a manager. This is a fun place to have some drinks and socialize. great for tourists 8/31/2005

have been twice for taco tuesday. the first time it took 1 hour and 15 minutes to get our 2 fish tacos. the second time it took 15 minutes to get waited on, then another 15 minutes to get our water and crab dip made with bad crab. then the beers that we ordered first showed up about 5-10 minutes later. very poor service and very mediocre quality food. a step above the beach chalet. the atmosphere however is very warm and a pretty fun crowd. probably best left for tourists given all the great restaurants in san francisco. more

This place is wonderful! My husband and I came the Park Chalet for dinner the other night and I was very impressed with the whole experience. The service staff is very friendly and the food was excellent. I had the pan seared halibut and my husband had a flat iron steak. We both thought the food was some of the best we have had in San Francisco. They also had a live band playing and it was nice to be able to enjoy some good food while listening to live jazz. I highly recommend dining at this establishment. Pros: food, service, aumbiance Cons: noise more

I went last Thursday with two girlfriends. It's a beautiful space with windows all around to let in the sunlight when the fog hasn't blocked it out. I ordered the smoked salmon sandwich, which was quite tasty. My friend ordered the same, but she kept saying she couldn't taste the salmon. Turns out the chef neglected to include the salmon in her sandwich! She spoke to the manager who apologized and comped us a dessert. The fondue was ok, but the cheese was a bit grainy. We ended up requesting more bread to dip in the fondue. The band playing that night was alright, except the space is just too small for a ""louder"" band. A few times, we yelled to each other that at least we were seated at the opposite end of the restaurant from the band. I can't imagine how patrons sitting closer could hear themselves think. Don't judge a book by it's pretty cover... 6/5/2005

I'm a Sunset local and frequent the beautiful park chalet for the atmosphere, live music and beer. It's the best spot in the city to enjoy a sunny SF day, relaxing on the lawn with good friends sandwiched between the Pacific Ocean and GG Park. The only food I have enjoyed is the organic spring salad. I'd rather have a small plate of tasty food than a large plate of mediocre food accompanied by the same drab overcooked side dishes. Don't even think about ordering a cocktail as this place is notorious for weak drinks. You can work your way through your wallet and still not have a buzz. Beer or wine is the best option. I'm not assigning this rating to harshly vent; I'm hoping a manager will see this and make improvements as I truly wish the best for such a charming spot with lots of potential. more

Worst Service I Ever Had 1/24/2005

A group of 5 of us went there for Sunday brunch and sat outside. Everyone that sat in the back outside agreed that it was the worst service we had ever received. Our waiter was non-existent and after our food finally arrived over an hour after we ordered, we were not given any water or utensils. I complained to the manager, but he was not even apologetic.
