Not Authentic at ALL 4/7/2008

I came across this place by accident while shopping with my GF and her mom. They had never had Mongolian before so I convinved them to try it. Now I am from California where I am used to Asian style Mongolian BBQ and love it. I should have known to turn around once we were seated and given menus. I have never gotten a menu at a mongolian restaraunt unless they served other asian foods. There was little to no asian food listed. But we continued after I saw the nice selection of meats and veggies. But I should have looked further because at the sauce bar I was appalled not to find soy, kung poa, ginger, terryaki, garlic, wine, vinegar, sugar water, sesame oils and other traditional sauces. Instead they had anything but. I think they even had BBQ sauce. Yuck. As I am accustomed to doing I added my sauces to my bowl mixture and proceeded to the cook. Once there I was greated with a curious evil eye. The cook explained to me that you put the sauce on after cooking. I informed him thats not what I am used to and asked why this was not explained when we told the waiter this was our first time hear. He grunted and proceeded to cook and asked me what I was used to. After explaining he whispered something under his breath to the now three employees standing there listening to me explain real mongolian. Once seated the waiter brought us our side dish. Expecting rice, soup or eggrolls I was suprised to get tortillas. HUH? Oh am I gonna hear about this I am thinking. We proceeded to eat our food as I was thinking of what I was about to her once we left. After eating only half our food we left. Once outside the ladies did not disappoint and explained every detail they hated about the whole experience as I hung my head low and tried to explain real Mongolian food again. Needless to say, I will have to find a true Mongolian restaraunt, try it by myself and report back before they will even think about trying it again. This is Tex/Asian food and should not be called Mongolian. Pros: Meat and Veggie Selection Cons: Sauces, Service, Food, price to high more

Great Value - Superb Food! 4/16/2006

I've been here quite a few times, and I've finally got my favorite combination down! This is a make-your-own stir fry restaurant. The food is very fresh and includes chicken, pork, 2 types of steak, shrimp, scallops, lamb, and others for the meat selection, then all kinds of vegetables and sauces to complement it. There is also tofu for the vegetarians among you. Make your choices and head to the large cooker staffed by at least 2 cooks. Then your concoction is cooked and you are often entertained at the same time. For an extra surprise, give the cooks a tip when your plate is finished! Also a great value - for $12.99 you get one bowl, and for $1 more you can have unlimited. Rice and tortillas are included. My only complaint is that this place can be chilly sometimes, probably due to the vents around the cooker. Pros: High Quality Food, Great Prices, Entertaining! more

Mongolian is Marvelous 12/5/2002

This place ROCKS!! The music and grillers offer entertainment and your meal is limited only by your own imagination. One price for dinner makes it an easy place to divy up a check for large groups. You can keep it simple or get creative w/all the sauces, oils and spices you can handle. And if your creation is a wreck....no problem toss it out and start again. Ingredients are fresh and staff is incredible makes it a fun place to get your grub on. Pros: group seating, outdoor dining, reduced kid prices Cons: sometimes a bit loud more
