Totally ripped-off. My Infinity furnace was under warranty. It was less than 5 years old. The thermostat went blank and did not function. I asked for a replacement and was told by Bayside Mechanical and Heating that the thermostat was indeed under warranty and free, but if I installed it, the warranty would be voided. The technician must come and put it in for $90 an hour. The technician came out and told me it was decided I should be charged for TWO hours- one hour to install it and one hour to return the defective part to the factory. The technician popped my thermostat in in two minutes and demanded $180 labor. I paid but felt totally cheated. Charged two hours for two minutes work for a system that was under warranty? That is unethical and Carrier and Bayside Mechanical and Heating should be ashamed of this practice. \r
