I would like to express my experience of boarding animals. Being a former pet technician, I can say I have seen many breeds come and go and love every single one of them. Compassion and respect of all creatures is a prerequisite of employment. The owners instinct of who is right for this kind of job is essential. It is unfair for a patron to come to a new facility to board their beloveds and expect them to be stress-free. Some animals cope well, and some never do. It is our responsibility as pet technicians to comfort our new friends, treat them with respect, and take care of them to the best of OUR ability. We do not have degrees that state "we know why your pet is sick" and "here is what you can give him to ease his pain." Our only way of easing their stress is our company, individual attention, love and respect of them. Every single person who works in this type of job is sincerely saddened and humbled when a death occurs. We are animal lovers, not killers.
