I felt the need to share my recent experience with others so they can avoid my recent experience with Dr. Tool. I needed a new nose piece for my Dewalt screw gun. So I stop by Dr. Tool and explain to the guy at the service counter that I need a new nose piece. He immediately starts in telling me there is a $16 inspection fee, regardless if I get the tool fixed. I tell him, it only needs a nose cone, everything else works fine, it doesn't need a full inspection. After almost walking out of the place, I am given the impression that the $16 fee is waived if I get the tool repaired.....at their suggested recommendation. So 2 weeks go by and I call to see what is going on. Haven't looked at it yet. A week later I get a call with an estimate of $56! I'm out of town traveling, so I say fine. Now at 5 weeks I stop by to see if it is done. Nope! I bitch and miraculously the next day I get a call and am told it is done. Parts were about 1/2 and a 1/2 hour labor for a total of $56. Too bad I checked ebay and could have picked up a new one for $60 and if I would have taken the time to find the parts online, I could have had them shipped to my house for under $20.
