I've been enjoying this little spot on a regular basis for 10 years and never suffered anything more than being overly-full from the large portions and eating too many of their great homemade pastries. The service has always been good, the food excellent. I saw the reports as well, and have no idea what actually happened (someone with an ax to grind, perhaps a local politician who'd ?) but I've always been delighted with the food and the service. This family-owned restaurant has been in business for 30 years in the same spot - surely they must be doing something right. I'd give them the benefit of the doubt and another try. Our city needs more locally owned restaurants and fewer McCheesecake Factories!
Pros: Friendly staff, large patio, romantic atmosphere in tavern
Cons: Make reservations for brunch on weekends, and if you want the homemade cinnamon rolls, come early!
