I have never stayed at a B&B before, was very leary about the idea actually. We were on a 10 day trip to Hot Springs, Arkansas which is a 12 hour drive. We decided to drive 6 hours and stay in Carbondale to visit a SIU student. On the way down, we stayed at the Best Western for $99 + Tax. Just what we expected. On the way home, my husband wanted to do something different so he booked the Barton House Bed & Breakfast. I wasn't too thrilled about it, but i figured since I got to do whatever I wanted while on vacation, I will give him this one. All I can say is OMG!!! Next to the hot mineral baths, massages and shopping I got to do in Hot Springs, Barton House was the best part. It was immaculate, we had our own bathroom, which by the way I would love to duplicate in my home. the common area had a scrabble game, I love scrabble. the food was devine, home made creps, fresh fruit and freshly squeezed orange juice. There was also our own little kitchen area downstairs in the common area which we utilized with the delicious cheese, crackers and wine they provided upon our arrival. The host and hostess Linda and Jerry were simply wonderful. I wanted to take Percy home with me.
