Dr. Sellers was born and reared in Lafayette, Louisiana. He first became interested in health care in the 1980's while his mother was teaching nursing at the University of Southwestern Louisiana. He studied biology and chemistry there, and completed his studies with a 3.877 cumulative average. During that time he also completed Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Knox, Kentucky for the Louisiana Army National Guard. He attended Texas Chiropractic College in Pasadena, Texas.
