Barrington On The Green

We have lived in Barrington for over two years, and from the second month we moved in it's been absolutely horrible. The management is rude, they don't return phone calls for days, they lie and held my money which they 'accidentally ' charged me twice for two SEPERATE TIMES, for nearly 20 days and then offered to apply it to my next months rent instead of refunding it??? I had to a typo to the bank to get funds reversed. Don't ever let them do automatic draft. \r \r The apartment seems nice at first, but after a few weeks (or days) of living here you can see it WAS a nice complex which they have let go to hell and just try to paint over, so to speak, all of the problems. All the parking areas are in horrible shape and I have had my car broken into twice in the last month or so. The demographic is pretty criminal now, wouldn't recommend kids or elderly living here, even though it may look nice at first. Trust me, the criminal elements come out. \r \r Onto the reason we are not renewing here, the last straw was what is supposed to be called 24 hour maintainance- we had our AC go out when it was nearly a hundred for several days....we have a baby and an elderly lady here, we called at 11 am on a Monday and was to,d they would be there by end of day. By Thursday and 10 calls later, still no AC. We had to rent a hotel because the baby was literally getting sick. \r \r That's one of a THOUSAND maintanence problems you will have here, small to pretty big, they don't care. They really don't. Charlotte, Samantha and the others are surly and rude and the maintenance men (man? There is rarely more than one and they only work 9-5) are inept. Completely inept and actually broke things in my home without my permission to even be there. \r \r This is just a few of the MANY reasons I say do NOT rent here no matter how nice it may look. Unless you are looking for a local mosque community as its nearby and they seem to very much not mind the problems. Maybe this is why the management got so lax. \r \r Oh yes, we are currently under our second round of small cockroach invasion- this one not as bad as the first, but we pay for pest control and they are supposed to come monthly (they don't) and they've taken their sweet time to deal with this. This is not healthy at all. The only thing we haven't had so far is mold. God forbid the next tenant finds some. \r \r Seriously. Don't rent here unless you have a sadomasochistic personality and want to be as uncomfortable and frustrated and stolen from as possible. more

Beware. Fraudulent activity taking place on lease renewal contracts for residents who have lived there at minimum prior to 2012. Current management ownership, Somerset Apartment Management, loses security deposits and force residents who have fulfilled ALL their duties as a reliable resident to sue and be refunded. Believe me the headache is not worth living here. The environment, front office staff, and old management (Bell Partner) overall was much better before the sell to Somerset Apartment Management. Maintenance is also much slower and when they do come out the ""band-aid"" fix is just that and will require you to almost harass the front office for someone to acknowledge the request. PLEASE, don't leave voice messages and think your request will be documented. Maybe it will, more than likely it won't. You need to call or physically go in to make sure request are handled in a timely manner. I was a resident from September 2009 - July 2014 with my unit flooding in 2012 so believe me my analysis is fair and true. DON'T MOVE HERE! more

I would like to commend the staff at Barrington for their hard work and dedication to our complex. You can count on them to be efficient and kind towards your requests and inquiries. It has been a pleasure living here for almost two years. We plan to stay here another year and would recommend this community to anyone. The grounds are beautiful and kept very neat and clean. The maintenance staff if helpful and prompt and always do what they say they will do. We feel safe and happy to call Barrington home. more
