Could not believe there were still doctors like this. I have tried many pediatricians here in scottsdale az, some smaller groups, some larger groups all with apparently great reputations. I felt like a number not a person. more

my husband and I are originally from PA. and we had the best pediatrician for our 6 kids but moved to AZ right after the birth of my 6th. That was about 18 months ago. I have been to 2 of the supposed best and biggest pediatric groups in the area of Scottsdale and Phoenix and I don't need to mention names. But then a nurse at my husband's work (SHCS). recommended Dr. Barone for a real personal approach. OMG was she ever right! My kids love this man and he explains everything to my kids. I'm a little jealous sometimes that they trust him more than me. I have a couple of teenagers and he gets his message across to them like no other. Even the little ones, he talks to them about their behavior and respect and everything important about growing up. I love this. Anybody and treat an ear infection, but a ""doctor"" should ""doctor"". This man does. and his office is just one doctor and one nurse/receptionist. They know us and treat us like family. Thank you so much for Dr. B more

I was so worried. My husband recently has been out of work and lost our health insurance. I was able to get my small children on a State plan Mercy Care. I was nervous because I have always had a private doctor and was concerned about going to some type of clinic. To my surprise I was referred to Dr. Barone. I had heard about him, but I didn't know with these medicaid plans you could go to a regular doctors office. I guess some pediatricians do work with the State and I thank God for this one. more

My family is new to the area from NJ. We were recommended to Dr. Barone by several people at Hospital were I work ( I am a lab tech). One of my neighbors said only the best things about his office. and I heard a lady talking to someone else about how great her Pediatrician was so I just had to ask. When she said Dr. Barone, I figured, that's it how many more signs do I need. more

I grew up in the medical field so I am no dummy. I took my sons' in for a well visit as we're looking for a new ped in the area. To my disgust- the doc did a half-a$$ed exam, barely answered questions, would interrupt me when I tried to answer his, treated me like a moron and flung rude/snide comments at me because of my immunization beliefs. To say I am disgusted is an understatement. I have no more knowledge of how my sons are doing then when I went in. No growth percentiles, growth markers, no scoliosis check...all I got was look in ears, listen to heartbeat and told their fine. I DON'T RECOMMEND HIM TO PARENTS! Also told my son if he didn't listen to me (he was minding by the way) that he'd give him a big painful shot in the but next time...wtf? You don't say that to a 10yr old! I am filing a complaint with the board. Pros: Cheap- you get what you pay for Cons: Too many too list! more

I have met many many doctors. This one is down to earth and probably nicest guy I have met. My kids love him. Who would have imagined a kid who wants to go to the doctor. He gives his own shots and my kids still love him, figure that. He distracts them so well they don't even know what he's doing. I love this man. Everyone should have a pediatrician like this. more

This man is so honest and upfront. He explains everything and seems to know about so many things. He's not just there to give you medicine, he really tries to help my kids whole body and mind everytime we visit. My kids think he's the best thing in the world. They want to go ""play"" with him, all the time. more
