Don't forget about your local book store! 4/10/2006

I know Barnes & Noble is a chain, but how nice is it to have a book store right here in Hoboken? It's small, but chances are it has just what you are looking for. I recently joined a book club and try to check out this Barnes & Noble before going anywhere else. The sales people at this location are very friendly, and what I like best is that they will help you find your selection within minutes. Usually I am in a rush, but want to pick up something quickly. They find my book on the computer and lead me right to the spot it is in the store. And if I have a little more time, I ask if they have any suggestions. Everyone is so friendly and helpful, and isn't that what you want in a neighborhood store? So just reminding you that the store is there, at the end of Washington Street....check it out before you head to the mall or some larger location on a nearby highway. more

Typical B&N, excellent service, though a bit small 6/20/2005

As others have said, it is a bit small compared to your typical Barnes and Noble, however, it still is fine and stocks all the bestsellers, magazines, etc. Other than the size, it is just as good as any other B&N. They will also order books for you that are not in stock and the people who work there seem to be pleasant. more

Too Small 6/17/2005

The Hoboken branch of Barnes and Noble is very small and has a limited selection. The store is clean and well-lit and the staff can be helpful if the store is not too crowded. If the store is crowded, though, the employees can be rude. The magazine selection is very small and not a very good choice of titles. The cafe is crowded and over priced, and frequently sells out of the better items. Although there is a large parking lot right next to the store, parking is not free for customers. more

Very Small but Nice to Browse 6/15/2005

A very small B&N - but clean with a little coffee area that you go to a look through some books. A nice place to spend a lunch hour browsing through books. You may not find everything you are looking for since the selection is much smaller than other stores but they offer the top sellers and also have magazines and children's books. The service is good and the staff will help you find whatever you are looking for. I really like B&Ns and being a smaller store may have some drawbacks like less stock but it has its good points too like less crowds so the store is relaxing to shop at. more
