This Barnes & Noble at Flushing is terrible 6/30/2011

I am from Queens and i called the B&N store in Flushing to reserve a book for pickup. I went to the store and purchase the book and the book was terrible, it look like someone bought the book, read the pages and threw a cup of coffee on the pages not only the outside but the edge that is visible to clerk eyes and the manager. I asked her for a discount she said. I needed the book and i could not wait for another copy that would have taken seven days. I bought book with Amazon and i could have gotten that book at a cheaper price and better condition but i wanted to support a neighborhood store but it was terrible. It a disgraced how Barnes & Noble in Flushing treats their customers. Without customers there is no B&N we are the business, if customers don't buy no one will have a job. customers should buy from Amazon and Better World Books you get good book cheaper, cleaner and better customer service people who value and appreciate your business. Don't go there the manager is terrible and has no purpose cant make a decision to give a discount on damaged, dirty, expensive book. This unbelievable and disgusting. This is a terrible B&N store nearby St. Johns University located at 17660 Union Tpke Frnt 3, Flushing, Ny. This is worst B&N store. more

Barne's & Noble 5/14/2011

Barne's Noble on Austin Street is probably one of the more quite locations. The area like just about any Barne's Noble is neat and clean but the service is "help your self". You practically have to ask associates at least three times for assistance and that?s if you can find one on the sales floor. However, Barne's Noble has the best selection in classic literature as well as modern day favorites with prices that are hard to beat. There is a small children?s center on the second level and plenty of floor space to sample a good read before you purchase. Being the Starbucks lover that I am, its nice to know that not every Barne's & Noble has separated from the beverage partner at its retail locations. What is most to like about Barne's Noble overall aside from its massive selection of books and magazines is its convenience. Coincidentally a gym, a shopping area, and the MTA are never to far from this world class bookstore. more

great bookstore well stocked 3/17/2010

great bookstore and service is also wonderful for the most part. Restrooms are always clean. Pros: find any book or they will order it Cons: teen section is lacking in variety more

Barnes & Nobles 7/14/2009

If I don't buy my book on amazon like I do most of the time for a cheaper price, I come here. I never knew that they had an online store, but there is a starbucks in this barnes and nobles building. I use my credit card here. They have music CD's, magazines, and school help books. They have tables and chairs if you need tutoring or study time. You can bring your own snacks. Theres an escaltor there. Great mystery books and novels. Pros: Good books Cons: Prices more

Average bookstore 8/24/2005

This particular chain of B&N is decent, but I would recommend a sitting area where you can sit and preview some books. The lack of parking in the area is what actually lowers my rating. The upside is that there is a Starbucks connected right to the store. Customer service is pretty good. They will order a book for you if not in stock. PROS: customer service CONS: parking more

barnes and noble in the heart of forest hills 7/22/2005

This particular barnes and noble isnt a place to go if you just want to relax sit down and browse through books. It is always crowded. Kids are always present there and it gets loud at times . Other that that it is huge with a large selections choice. more

One of my favorite places to buy books. Many years of purchases and never had a problem with them. Excellent quality & low prices. I find them very reliable. Awesome service! Their online store is also great. They have easy checkout and fast shipping. And also free shipping. Thumbs up to Barnes and Noble! more
